Jedi

There is no denying it in this time of peril underneath the Empire, the Jedi are all but extinct and the Empire seeks to see that corrected and finish the job it started so many years ago. What this will mean, in play, is that there are incentives to be a powerful Force User, as always, neat powers and tricks one can perform. However, that using them will come at a cost. The Empire is always watching, and even those you may fight to save will turn against you just to save themselves from the Empire's wrath should your presence be discovered.

Of course, Jedi often have the opposite affect as well. They inspire fear in the Empire but they also inspire hope in the Rebellion. Jedi characters, or those who are force Sensitive and leaning toward the light will often find themselves in the position to be working in line with many of the Rebellions actions. Some may even gather trusted friends around them.

This will not be a story focused on Jedi, but their place in Star Wars is apparent to us all. I enjoy them, I enjoy their stories, I enjoy how they play a sometimes vital role in bringing together characters who may not otherwise work together because the respect for the Jedi is something ingrained in many across the Empire. They are protectors, heroes, and martyrs, but do not fret if being a Jedi is not your cup of tea because Jedi are far from the only ones that can fit into these roles and these categories and they are certainly not required.

Jedi will be allowed, either those who escaped from Order 66, of which if this is your choice I would ask you come up with a nice and neat compelling way you managed to survive, how did you do it. There may even be Force Sensitives that were not Jedi. Just people unlucky to be born with the trait.

However, before you embark upon this decision for your character I would ask you to double check if this is the story you want, because the Empire will hunt you and they will eventually find you.
