Varina also gave a look of confusion. It turned even more sideways at the suggestion that this random guy was her boyfriend. Her cheeks turned a little red and she shot a look at Raven. "I could ask you the same thing! I don't know this..."

She looked back at him. "Manny fellow."

[Manny Donos]

"Hah, yeah right." Manny said, smirking. "I don't even have a girlfriend." Wait, he didn't need to share that... Manny cleared his throat awkwardly.

"Manuel Donos." He said. "But you can call me Manny. I'm sorta the guy to know around here." He said, smiling. "Are you ladies new in town?" There, call them ladies again. Although... wow, was that one taller than he was? He gave her a sidelong look.

[Raven Cadera]

"I see..."

The taller of the two women looked him over again, as if assessing what sort of threat he posed. Raven concluded that she could easily throw him over the bar if he bothered them.

"The guy to know around here? What exactly does that mean, Manny-With-No-Girlfriend?"

[Manny Donos]

Manny winced. "Just Manny. I mean, I'm okay with nicknames, but Manny 'no girlfriend' is pretty bad. I used to be called Manny 'Both Hands'-" he held up his long-fingered hands, as though to demonstrate, "-on account of being ambidextrous, see?"

He smiled. "You know. The guy. I know people. I know where to find things. You need your armor fixed, I know a guy. You looking for work? Merc work?" He frowned doubtfully. Maybe Mandalorians started as mercenaries in their teens.

He shrugged. "Or, if you're just looking for a place to hang out, lay low, have a drink, I know a place for that, too. Uh, I mean, another place. Besides this place." Manny chuckled, only a little awkwardly.

[Varina Ordo]

Varina narrowed her eyes at the guy. For the first time in awhile, she felt like she needed an adult. Guy was talking about his hands with two young gals!

But he did mention other things that were cool, like armor and work. "Okay... Manny 'No Girlfriend.' But, uh, what's in it for you in all this?"

[Raven Cadera]

It was a fair question, Raven conceded, but she watched Manny with a calm wondering. If he could be trusted. Or if he really knew anything.

"Merc-work would be good to hear about too..."

[Manny Donos]

"Hey, c'mon." Manny said, flashing the younger Mando a pained smile. "Let's not spread that around."

"Anyway, I'm not asking for anything. Just being friendly." He paused a moment. "Maybe a finder's fee if you get something good. But hey, that's normal for merc work, right?" Was it? He wasn't sure. Of course, would they know?

Except for a bit of a confused wrinkle around the eyes, Manny's smile didn't fade, though.

"If it's any good find," Raven clarified sternly, mostly to make it clear she was not someone to be pushed around or scammed.

There was something specific she was looking for, but... she figured she'd breach that question later, once she knew what this The Guy was good for. "You operating outside of the bounty broker's office then?"

[Manny Donos]

"Sure, my info's good." Manny gave her a combination wink and finger-gun, clicking his tongue as he did so.

"Uh... yeah, more or less." Manny rubbed his head. "I mean, just to be clear, what we're talking about, strictly speaking, you know, it wouldn't exactly be, uh, on the books, you know what I mean?"

[Varina Ordo]

"Sure, I can do that for you," Varina said blandly, "" You can count on me, Manny... 'No Girlfriend.'"

She looked over to the older Mando for guidance. She herself had never been in these sorts of negotiations before. Heck, she wasn't even sure if her momma had done bounties. Her mom seemed to be more like a soldier who blew things up!

Now she wanted a bomb. And money could buy bombs. But to get money...

"Books are dumb. Tell us what you have in mind," she said in her tough merc voice. It wasn't that tough.

[Manny Donos]

For just a moment, Manny, pressed the palm of his hand against his face. Why did he have to share that little tidbit?

"Easy." Manny said. "I know someone who needs that sort of work done from time to time. I introduce you. You do stuff for them. They give you a lot of money. You maybe give some to me, I don't know."

He smiled as an idea occurred to him. "Actually, I can do some stuff too, maybe. Like, maybe you have to get to a fight, but there's a door in the way. I could pick the lock." Yeah, mercs probably had to deal with that sort of things from time to time.

[Raven Cadera]

"Off the books is fine," Raven added in, taking lead out of experience on the subject.

"If you're out risking your neck too, then you get a share of the pay. That's fair. If you can't fight and need to stay home away from the dangers, then you get less - that's the way the cookie crumbles. But let me make it clear that I'm not a petty thief."

[Manny Donos]

"Hey, no, I got that. Mandalorian honor, right?" Manny nodded. "I don't know much about that, but it's sorta like how in grav-ball, you have to treat the other team with respect, right? The Kamda Manka-Cats are all about that."

"Okay then, we got a deal? I can take you to meet someone soon, maybe tomorrow, or the day after? See if she has anything for you." He frowned. "Maybe I could do it, too. I can handle myself." He puffed out his chest a little.

[Varina Ordo]

"What?" Varina let slip, confused over the talk about team respect. She almost said it again over his offer to go meet someone.

The younger gal sighed and looked to Raven for more guidance.

Catching Varina's confusion, Raven chuckled for a brief moment, her voice low as she spoke. "Don't forget Honor, vod. It's what sets Mando'ade a step up from any other warrior in the galaxy."


She looked to Manny. "Perhaps. I want to know more about this person you want to bring us to, and what the work is."

[Manny Donos]

Manny was unfazed by the switch in language, although one eyebrow did go up.

He nodded aggreably. "Yeah, so, her name's Vex. She runs the nightclub over in Sapphire Alley, Lux. And a lot more than that, besides." He smirked. "As for what kind of job... well, I don't know. But she's involved in all sorts of businesses. I'm sure she's got something good for a pair of mandos." No matter what size they were.

[Raven Cadera]

"Lux. That's one of 'em fancy places, from what I've seen." Like, she had seen it at a far away distance. It didn't seem like the place anyone would want to bring a pair of Mandos for business.

Mandalorian fashion clashed with fancy decor.

"Before I get involved in any... scheme, or whatever though, I give no promises. There's something else I need to do first here. On this planet."

"Yeah honor but what was that about the respect of teams and stuff?"

Varina nodded. "Yeah, we don't do anything without knowing all the details first!"

[Manny Donos]

"Uh, yeah..." Manny shrugged with an awkward smile. "It's a bit fancy, I guess. But hey, it's all about attitude. You go in there like you belong, it won't matter if you don't look quite the part." In fact, Manny didn't exactly look like the fancy sort, with his casual vest and striped pants.

He nodded to them. "But sure, you'll get details, I bet." He looked back and forth between the two of them. "What's it that you need to do?" Manny asked both of them, apparently thinking taking Varina as involved as well.
