With The Boss (D5 LE)

[Dross Stargazer]

Dross knocks on Neera's door.

[Honor]

Welcomed into the bar as any patron, Dross would find a bustling and welcoming site. Beings of many species and creeds. At the back, watching over it all, appeared Nerra. As always, sitting and watching over his little flock.

[Dross Stargazer]

Dross approaches the man. "Hey, boss. We need to talk."

[Nerra]

"Do we?" he said with a bit of a grin, wiping down a glass. "What kind of talk. Is it one where I should get my books?" he said, looking toward the back room.

[Dross Stargazer]

"The kind of talk that...." Dross hesitated. "Well, we just need to talk alone."

[Honor]

"One I should get my books,' he says, nodding and coming around the counter. Informing Clem where he will be he leads Dross into the back room and browses a bookshelf in the back for the moment.

"Do be a good an and shut the door behind you," once it was shut Nerra indicated a empty bookshelf that seemed padded that he could move in front of the door as well. When he was finish Nerra was waiting at the table.

[Dross Stargazer]

Dross shuts the door and sits down. "So, I went to that party last night. I mean, free drinks, right? Well, I was hanging back, trying not to get in anybody's way and overheard something. It was two men. One was named..." Dross tried to recall, "Alder Divo, or something like that. He was talking about how the governor is basically a prisoner of the Empire. He was bragging that while the governor is technically free, he can do a thing without Imperial authority. The other man seemed happy about it and told Alder or whatever his name is good man." Dross shrugs. "Then I got kicked out. But figured you would like to hear about this."

[Honor]

Nerra for a while thought on the information as it was presented, "Yes.." he eventually said, "I had thought they would eventually do something like that. Yet, that they moved so soon.. that is most troubling indeed. Thank you.. Dross, you've been very helpful."

[Dross Stargazer]

"Yeah, well, I owe you. Hope this helps." he left take off some of that debt implied.

[Nerra]

"It does.. it will," he said, looking to Dross. "Though.. I wonder, why do you bring this to me Dross? What drives you to do it?"

[Dross Stargazer]

"I owe you. I messed up, and you got me out of a jam. I pay my debts." That he was having doubts about the Empire, he would keep to himself.

After all, not everyone is like that officer harassing the girl the other day. Surely, he doesn't define the Empire. Look at his old friend. But does he define the Empire? Could he just be a good man serving a wicked government? Too hard. Best to just pay his debts. That way he doesn't have to reflect. He doesn't have to think. He just has to do his duty. Like the Empire taught him.

Dross did not, loss in his thoughts, did not realize how troubled he look.

[Nerra]

"You've made some effort," Nerra said, having watched Dross during his reply. Speaking a bit softer he smiled to the man, "I thank you for what you have contributed thus far. Please be sure to keep me in mind if anything more comes to you."

[Dross Stargazer]

"Will do. Well my shift is about to start. I'll get out there."

[Nerra]

"You're welcome here, anytime," he said, a caring old man to one far younger.

[Dross Stargazer]

Dross simply gives the man a nod and leaves, refusing to do any further reflection on the night.
