Know Somebody [Day 5, All Day, Event]
Know Somebody [Day 5, All Day, Event]
Event Type: Tug of War [This means that no Destiny is to be spent here]
Participants: All
Timeslot: All Day
Whispered words spread across Kamda. In hushed tones those who trust one another, those who know what they are doing, band together in hopes of a better tomorrow. Nerra has set out his lures, hoping to reel in specialists that will aid his cause. While Deera continues to use the support of the people to gather those she can around her. Every day their power continues to grow. Some have already agreed to join the cause, but not all. Those not may be recruited today, may be inspired today, and in their turn they might go one to bring others into the fold...
Rebellion Grows.
Event:
Hushed words and knowing double-talk, many around Kamda are venturing out to bring others to the cause of the Rebellion.
You will only roll once on this event.
All Rolls in this event are 1 Challenge Dice, Two Difficulty Dice with a further special ruling, see below:
- On the Event result for the previous Riot/Protest event every player received a +/- (x)
-If that number is + you gain that many Boost dice to this roll. If it is - you gain that many setback.
Please, as well, denote which side you are recruiting for: Covert or Militant.
Skill Options:
Any skill you can reasonably make sound like it would actually support the resistance will be accepted. Just be sure to really think about this. I don't really want anything like: "I used gunnery to blow a massive hole in the ground and that helped! Now they have somewhere to store their water!"
If you have any uncertainty, or questions regarding if the skill you wish to use is a good use please message and ask before rolling.
Additional Note: Remember that this event is supporting the resistance in a bigger way than just "one moment." So think of ways that will help support it today, and tomorrow, and not just in the right now.
Posting:
Please post the typical event reply, be sure that the thread slot is open if you do roll for a timeslot but otherwise you can roll whenever. Should a Despair be rolled, there will be a response. As you are actively recruiting for the Resistance in an Imperial controlled city you can assume a few types of responses that will be relevant.
What if you haven't had any contact with the resistance yet?
Well, unfortunately that's a bit of my failing as I meant to get them a little more active prior to this day but didn't manage it. If you don't feel like your character would know too much yet but would like to, you may assume that either Nerra or Deera managed to approach you in the efforts they make this day. Otherwise, you may assume another player who rolled convinced you.
If you would like a thread with Nerra or Deera to see if your character can be convinced by them, let's chat to see which one is most likely and set that up.

It was one of Fuff's best performances. He entranced the audience to the point when Imperial moles in it paid more attention to the stage than to any Resistance dealings in the background.

EM5 - Know Somebody - Militant - Cunning 3, Survival 1, +1eB from previous event, Hard Difficulty, Upgraded Once): 1eP+2eA+1eB+1eC+2eD 1 success

The best way to support any resistance, any army, is logistics. Through their bellies, are wars won and lost. Keeping them supplied, keeping them fed. Tranq knew the best way to supplement that was to work with the land. To hunt, to forage. To know what vegetation could be eaten and what should be avoided. Even with those hushed whispers, and seeing who had started taking his lead, he woke early, and went hunting. Teaching. Showing how to use the natural wilderness around to support and keep militants fed.
Because once the hammer comes down, that's when shops start closing. That's when bread lines happen. If one could get around that? You take away a tool of oppression.

Ters had been asked to get blueprints of the Imperial Prison. The simple fact of a black site on Kamda was anathema to the judge, and Pokosta had been rather rude about it last night. Well, Pokosta could shove his Imperial friends directly up his posterior.
Recognizing the need to be at a remove from the actual acquisition of the records, he requested them under a false name to be delivered to a common courtroom, where he had an aide pick them up.

Nerra had brought in a couple of young toughs who were a bit hotheaded, talking about how they were going to kick stormtroopers asses.
"Not like that you won't" Solork flips one over with casual ease. "Hey, they have blaster rifles. Lots of blaster rifles. First step is getting rid of those. Fortunately, they get pretty cocky once they think they have you, and they'll lower the blaster while they escort you. You have to pick your moment but..."
Sol tries to drill the kids with some basic defense, prioritizing how to get out bad situations, rather than trying to put the hurt on someone. "If you have to use your bare hands without a weapon, something has already gone wrong with the job. We succeed by getting more and more people home, not by filling heroic graves."
As he speaks about the value of life, something seems to click, flowing through everything he does, and the kids who seem skeptical slowly seem to come around to the idea.

[Militant, Late Evening]
Raven stood confidently as she spoke in the Enclave, arms crossed over her chest and her voice even.
"As Mandalorians, we need a true challenge to test our mettle. Not just hunting animals, beasts... bounties, or waiting for the Imps or the Saxons to come hunting us. Our greatest victories have been against greater opponents in the past - what bigger challenge is there but the Empire? And here, we have a tactical advantage in starting small. We know where their bases are, we know how they operate in the city here where we already exist under their noses. We currently have the element of surprise on our side... and there's also the advantage of other factions in the city aligned with similar thoughts."
She looked to the others. "If we just sit and wait for an opportunity, we lose the advantages we currently have. Let this be a rallying point, to see how we fight together, united as Mando'ade. Our truest test to see if we are more than just lone hunters sticking together. If we can burn an Empire like our people once burned a Republic."

Jaxom wondered when he had gotten so good at lying. He understood the how and why. You did what you had to to survive. Then, you did what you had to to live with yourself.
The goal was to reach people of greater influence, with more resources. That required bluffing his way to them and offering assurances of things that were uncertain at best. It was fairly simple, really.
But, you could never predict where others would take your story.

Re: Know Somebody [Day 5, All Day, Event]
Roxi didn't know a whole lot. But she knew how to finish a brawl. And how to start one. Starting a fight in a rough cantina or two might not seem like the obvious way to recruit, but people needed a way to blow off some steam. And once they had the hang of it, some wanted more. And you'd think getting punched in the face by a girl might leave some people with a grudge, but many a street-brawler just found mutual respect in the fight. There was something catharctic about the whole thing, and before you knew it you were listening to a recruitment pitch; which people then started sharing all around.
Given that the first rule of fightclub was to not talk about fightclub, a lot of folk just started brawling and afterwards talking about the rebellion instead. Or was it the other way around? Either way, it attracted just the sort of people you could count on to pick a fight with the empire.
