(D4 LA) One for Each of Ya!

[Varina Ordo]

Varina walked the makeshift range with not one but two blaster pistols at her hip. Because of that, she wasn't going to be able to show off her cool, new, sleek, totally AWESOME new sword to them right now.

She wondered if she should buy a backpack or something.

"Watch this." Varina drew her right pistol just fine but the left one got stuck inside. She eventually pulled it out and started blasting at the dummies. When it became abundantly clear that two weren't working, she lowered her left sidearm and finally struck a bolt.

[Manny Donos]

Manny shrugged. "Not bad, not bad. Lotta fire. Keep at it, and maybe you'll be ambidextrous like me."

Smirking, he angled his body. "But let me show you how it's done..." Smoothly, he drew from somewhere in his vest... a very small pistol. His form was good as he aimed at the target, but as he fired a few bolts, it was clear that the little blaster just wasn't calibrated for that kind of range.

"Uh..." He frowned down at the little pistol. "I think this is more of a surprise gun."

[Raven Cadera]

"Surprise is good though," Raven remarked, watching the two. Strange how she was finding herself spending more time teaching people or helping them train.

"Can do a lot more damage at point blank range."

[Varina Ordo]

Varina stuffed the left-hand pistol into the holster, clearly disappointed in it. But when she saw Manny's excuse for a weapon, she couldn't help but point. "Ha-ha!"

[Manny Donos]

Manny scowled at her, although not too fiercely. "Hey, what are you laughing at? Something like this you can take pretty much anywhere." He tucked it away.

"And then, quick as lightning, you pull it out again!" Manny drew with a flourish, twirling the tiny pistol a little before pointing it at the target. "It's... not very powerful, though." He cast a look at Raven. "I wouldn't want to try it on a Wookiee. Or a Trandoshan. Or anyone in armor."

[Raven Cadera]

"Unless you know where to aim." Raven pointed to herself. "Like for instance, my armor is weaker around the neck, the joints, and my legs. A well aimed shot will bypass even tough opponents and their armor."

[Manny Donos]

Manny turned to look at her, frowning as he studied the various points. "Not easy shots." He said. "Especially if you're trying to shoot me too."

His expression brightened. "But that's where surprise comes in, huh? And shooting at someone that's just across the table from you."

[Varina Ordo]

"I bet you I could stab a Wookiee to death faster than you could shoot him dead." Varina drew her blaster back out and offered it to him.

[Manny Donos]

Manny grimaced. "I wouldn't want to get that close to a Wookiee. I heard they can tear your arms out of your sockets!"

Taking the pistol from her, he gave it a flourish, and then fired it at the target. A good hit, pretty close to the center of the target.

"Good, but I don't think it would stop anyone permanently."

Geez, why she was in full teacher-mode today?

"You should probably consider getting a blaster with better range too. Otherwise, that wookie will tear out your arms."

[Manny Donos]

"Maybe." Manny grimaced. "I need something I can keep hidden. Otherwise the first time I get shaken down by security forces or... someone else, I lose it." He frowned. He did have a few spots he could hide things... but he needed those for his magic tricks!

Flipping the pistol in his hand, he offered it to Raven. "Or have you got one of your own?" He asked.

[Raven Cadera]

"There's different kinds of holsters you can buy that makes it easier to hide a weapon on your person," she suggested.

At the offered pistol, she shook her head and reached for her own blaster. One of the blaster pistols she'd gotten during the job for Vex. "I've used one of those holdout blasters for a while too, but this one has a better range and a little bit more punch. And of course, got a stun-function."

"If you get charged by a wookie, it might be better to set to stun, actually... they can take a lot of pain, but withstanding stun-rays is a different thing."

To demonstrate, she took aim at their practice targets, and shot three in consecutive order with deadly accuracy.

Manny let out a slow whistle. "Wow. So you've done this before, huh? If we keep letting you shoot, we're gonna need some more bottles."

Then, blinking, he looked at her. "Wait, have you ever fought a wookiee? Or... what's the biggest baddest thing you've fought?"

[Varina Ordo]

"You're so cool!" Varina gasped affer Raven's display. She looked over to Manny. "You're alright."

[Raven Cadera]

Raven chuckled, grateful for the fact that the other two couldn't see her embarrassment underneath the helmet. "Hmm... I don't think I've fought a wookie, as far as I know. I fought a nasty houk on some backwater desert planet once. They're pretty big - faces look like some nasty tumor or something... pretty nasty personalities, appearance, and in a fight."

[Varina Ordo]

"Oh man, a houk?" Varina nodded along to her own brain. "We should go on a hunt sometime!"

Another idea too. "Here," she said, drawing her other pistol and holding it out to Raven. "I wanna see how you do."

[Raven Cadera]

"Shooting with two pistols at once? Sure, I guess I'll give it a try."

Not her usual style. Sometimes she'd dual-wielded sword and pistol though...

Raven took aim and felt her attention drawn between two targets. She was pretty sure she had seen her father do this one time, showing her brother... oh right, it was when her brother was practicing with the jetpack, and their father was teaching him how to hold weapons while controlling the jetpack.

She squeezed the trigger on the right, and missed, soon followed by the one on the left which missed too. Again. And again. It didn't look like she had hit her targets... but a lucky wind with the last volley of bolts knocked the cans over, making it look like she had hit them both.

Again, Raven was very happy for her helmet, so the others didn't see the torrent of emotions on her face.

[Manny Donos]

"Hey, look at that!" Manny said, grinning. "At first I was like 'no way is she gonna hit them', but then, hey, they went down! Pretty good, Raven, pretty good."

He looked at the cans, a strangely thoughtful expression on his features; he didn't wear a helmet, after all. After a moment, he shook his head. "Your turn next, huh Varina?"

[Varina Ordo]

"Woah." Varina was amazed by how Raven was able to, apparently, hit with both of them when she was only able to hit with one! Older Mandalorians certainly were the best.

The young teen shot a glance at Manny. "No, it's your turn to use two! Duh!"

[Raven Cadera]

"Yeah... your turn." Raven handed Varina's blaster over to Manny.

And once relieved of it, she stepped back a bit to sit down and watch, but also to gather her thoughts.
