[D2EE] Hot Crimes

[Honor]

While Manny attempted to descend he slipped and slid all the way down into the crevice. Inside he found himself face to face with a Weequay who was holding a box.

They were both incredibly confused.

[Manny Donos]

"Uhhhhhhh..." Manny said.

Then he struck a casual pose, smiling confidently. "Hey there. I'm the locksmith. Specializing in boxes. The boxlocksmith." He nodded. "You guys called for me? I can take a look at that boxlock for you. Reasonable fees, too." He held out his hands expectantly.

[Honor]

"B-boooossssss," the Weequay dropped the box and ran off toward the inner parts of the cavern underneath the crevice.

[Fuff]

Fuff slid into the hole after Manny, hopefully in a more controlled way. Seeing him with a box, he raised whiskers and tilted ears. "What's going on?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyrvess followed Fuff down. "I heard a voice? Is everything alright?"

[Manny Donos]

"It's a box." Manny said, holding it out for the others. "A Weequay had it. He ran back looking for his boss, I think." He grimaced. "I think we're gonna be talking to this boss one way or another in a minute. Hopefully we can get the rest of what our guy wants."

He looked around. "Unless someone has another idea?"

[Fuff]

"Mrs BB, perhaps tell Munch to develop plan B in case negotiations fail." Fuff pointed to her comlink.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyrvess quietly radios to Munch the situation. "If they don't make their way to us...do we go in?"

[Manny Donos]

Manny shrugged. "They know we're here. Best thing is to play it strong, pretend like this was our plan all along. And get ready to make something else up."

He looked down at the box. "Technically, we're only not supposed to break the seal on the crate, right?"

[Honor]

They heard then approaching from around a corner, a few boulders made up the floor that obscured vision too deeply into this little cavern system.

Coming from down the way was a few Weequay, a human, and a Mirialan. All of them were lightly armed.

It was the Mirialan that spoke first, "Sooo, this is awkward."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyrvess eyes the three... thinking back to the meeting that spawned this expedition. She suspected that these folks might be familiar.

[Manny Donos]

Blandly, Manny nodded. "You're telling me." Actually, he wasn't quite sure what was going on, but he was definitely going to play along.

He spread his hands. "No point making it any more awkward than it has to be, huh?"

[Fuff]

"I am sure there's a solution to this." Fuff claimed confidently.

[Munchfronta]

There probably isn't a solution to this.


Munch does his best to sneak separately from the group in case things go bad and they need some cover.

[Honor]

"I'm sure there is," the Mirialan stepped forward while the human stepped away. Of the two, they were both male and only one appeared familiar.

"Why don't you send one of yours forward, we'll do the same, and we can start talking? How about that?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyvress took a deep breath and stepped forward slowly, "Alright. Let's hash this out." She was not the most qualified for this....but better then nothing. As she walked past the other two Jyvress straightened up, trying to remember the old days and bring out some of the cold arrogant indifferent her superiors and fellows had excelled at.

[Manny Donos]

"You got this." Manny murmured to BB as he stepped back, raising one fist in a cheering gesture.

He turned it into a cough as he moved out of the way.

[Honor]

Stepping forward the Mirialan looked Jyvress over, made some assumptions, and then said, "Alright, look. We came here cause it was supposed to be a simple score, but someone," he said, looking over his shoulder, "failed to mention that it might be a good idea to get a loader bot. So, trying to load the crate we got in the back onto our speeder has proven difficult. Unfortunately, when we brought it in here to wait for one of our guys to come back with a bot we found this little crevice a little less... uninhabited than we would have liked. You want it? It's yours just.. our speeder is still in there and we need a way out of this bunged up job. You get your crate, we get our speeder, we both go our separate ways. You square with that?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"And why precisely should we trust you to not shoot us in the back once your speeder is out?" Jyrvess crossed her arms and gave her best 'I am soooooo unimpressed with you guys look'. "And what do you mean by uninhabited. Did you find something unpleasant in your hidey hole?"

[Honor]

"Hey, we came here prepared to fight off a few.. scavenger critters but when it's big and snarls is when I call it quits. I'm not ready to lose a hand just trying to lift some non-descript crate off an old vagabond in a bar," he said.

"Anyway, you wanna play the trust game, we can play that all evening, even into the night and as much as I'd love to spend the night with that human, maybe even that cat-guy you got over there I'm not quite keen for doing that in the desert. Get me? So, way I see it, we either proceed forward under the guise that we wanna get outta here tonight or.. well, we could try a shoot out and see who's left standing?" he said, raising his blaster as a prop, finger quite far from the trigger.

"Though.. I admit, not my favorite option," he said.
