Mallory nursed her split lip, checked her blaster and holstered it. Looking to Vex she nodded. Getting out of the speeder they walked together down the cement alleyway. Vex's heels clicked with every step. Surrounded by their people, double guard. Mallory looked out to the height of the building's around them, how they were covered in a shade. A lot of things changed after the Rebellion made their move, got off Kamda. This wasn't one of them.
Escorting Vex, protecting her, that was their agreement. Beyond that, it's what kept the credits flowing in. Walking through one of the side-doors to the club she checked the inside. How everything was pretty much the way she left it. Which was surprising, consider it wasn't. Quite a few explosions went off in here, she was sure of that. Now.. it was like nothing even happened. Watching the staff prepare for their shift reminded her she should get back to her own job.
"Clear," she said to one of the men. There wasn't any more of an acknowledgement than a nod. Continuing through she was halfway up the stairs when Vex made her way inside of the club. Mallory knew this because she heard the change in the clicking of Vex's heel. How much sharper it sounded inside.
Placing her hand on the office handle she felt a cold chill, how many times had she done this and yet.. so much was different but everything was the same. Swallowing that thought down she opened the door and checked the office. Walking in, thoughts elsewhere.
Blaster in hand she squared off against Rook, the hitman from the Hutts. Her hand trembled but she held the aim steady. Pulling the tri- she was stopped, Vex's hand was on the end of her blaster and pointing it downward. Stepping in front Vex looked to Rook expectantly.
"Cartel's spoken," Rook said, tossing a heavy and wet sack onto the ground. "Tetto's out. You're in."
"Excellent," she smiled, looked at the sloppy mess on her floor. Stepped forward and looked to Rook. "A pleasure."
"Business," he replied. Walking passed Vex and stopping by Mallory. Exchanging a knowing look before he left.
Mallory took firm hold of her right hand, still clasped onto the blaster and got it to stop shaking. Locking it away she slid her blaster back into it's holster. Looking to Vex who turned around, "Mallory, be a doll and have one of my people clean this up?"
"Yes ma'am," Mallory replied.
