Here comes the Boom-Boom! [Lysa Q&A]

Post by Lysa » Sat Aug 08, 2020 11:46 pm

Heyyyyyyyyy! I had a BLAST with this game (hehe get it!?) Thank you so much to Honor for giving us this world and story to play with. I honestly wish I'd been able to dive more fully in to it but choosing to attempt and juggle 3 games makes focusing on any one difficult. Hopefully in the future (please let there be a future) ill be able to put my full focus on it.

But yeah feel free to ask anything about Lysa she's a fairly open book that is honestly still being written.

As a note, I once thought of writing a Jinx-like character myself once and felt too daunted by it, I've always loved the character type. So know how truly I mean it when I say I think you absolutely nailed it and so many of your moments were an absolute joy to read. :D

Thank you! I think I really just had to let go of inhibitions and lean into it, it's a very fun and chaotic headspace to be in. I dont feel like I got a ton of depth out of her this game but I think that was partly just my only having a couple threads per day. Overall I'm glad you enjoyed reading her because I had a fun time writing her.

Boom-Boom!

Damn, Lysa was an expert at making Raven feel uncomfortable/embarrassed.

Lysa was fun and would've liked to have seen more of her too, so hope she'll be aroud in the future.

Where do you see Lysa go from here after the events of the game?
Was there something you regret not getting around to do in the course of the game?
How much money did Lysa end up spending all-together on boom-booms?

I really enjoyed their interactions, Raven seemed somewhat disarmed by Lysa's strange form of directness and free spirit. I only hope I didn't go overboard with it  . I definitely have plans for her and ideas but not sure exactly how I'll implement them yet.

from here there are a few directions I was considering, even one where she ends up trying to become a mando since she seemed to get along well with most of them  (minus maybe the head honcho)

I regret not just digging more in to her, her limited screen time and most of it being combat or greetings meant I didn't really dig much into her, how she works, ect. We see flashes of it with Leah. But also I didn't get to develop IC relationships as much as I would have wanted to. More threads with Manny and Leah and non combat threads with Raven would have been good but I wasn't proactive enough.

and calculator says I spent a little over 2000 credits on explosives this game but that number will be closer to 2500 after I replenish from the final fight lol

Yeah, I really wanted more threads with Lysa! She was both interesting and hilarious. Seriously, that post in the MM just about killed me... OOC as well as IC.

Tell us more about how Lysa came to be! Both IC and OOC.

oof thats a big question uhh well obviously her inspiration was Jinx from League of Legends basically just wanted to play a mildly psychotic character but with a big heart she cares fast and she cares deep, she doesnt forget relationships and is likely to feel just as close to someone she met 5 years ago as if they had just chatted yesterday.

IC shes the product of living in orphanages and then the street, she's certainly had her fair share of trauma and tragedy that mixed with her quick mind led her to become the person she is. But she doesn't look to or blame the past...most of the time. Her down moments can bring out the worst of her mind and she can focus on pretty dark subject but nothing I wanted to put on screen for various reasons. I wanted to show there was a deep darkness and damage to her without focusing on it too deeply. Overall though she has a zeal for life and wants to live every moment to the fullest.

How big a bomb is too big a bomb?

Also enjoyed watching you blast your way through foes with glee. Everyone should enjoy their hobbies. :)
