Verd ori'shya beskar'gam (D6, Mid-Morning)

Hidden among faceless factories lies an entrance to a secret tunnel, to a secret door, that finally but inevitably leads to the Enclave. In order to traverse this most inscrutable path you merely must follow The Way.

Verd ori'shya beskar'gam (D6, Mid-Morning)

Post by Raven Cadera » Fri Jul 24, 2020 8:34 pm

Waking up, all the bruises from yesterday felt tender and many swollen. Most now had discoloring as well. All signs of a good day of fighting yesterday... though she hated the thought of having to be more careful today.

After going through her usual morning work out, Raven eagerly made her way over to the forge. Finally she would have the armor meant for true Mandalorians.

What she would find is the doorway to the forge, a stone door placed here some time ago. Perhaps centuries passed or an old door brought along with the forge. Here, however, the forge-master stayed. Few dealt with him outside of moments like these and he kept to himself and the teachings of ancient traditions.

Raven now had but to enter.

Her lips pursed as she exhaled slowly, preparing herself mentally for this moment. She wasn't sure if she had even met this Forgemaster yet in passing...

Realising she might just be standing around like a lazy nerf, Raven pushed the stone door open and looked inside.

Her helmeted head nodded in a greeting, and she did as instructed. Though she couldn't help but to take a glimpse of the forge as she sat down.

"Mandalore bid me to come here, to you. For my armor." The armor - the greatest symbol of a true Mandalorian.

"Had he not the door would not have opened, Mandalore has earned this right to ask of my art from me. I know he deems you worthy yet I have not heard the tale. Recount the deed that has brought you here."

Behind him a circular forge sat at the middle of a circular room. Much care had gone into it's construction and lining the walls were the many tools of his trade. Mandalorian sigils from long before all of the galaxies current conflicts even began to form save the vague notions of those that ever guide the galaxy are etched into the forge and the implements.

For a moment she felt a little nervous that the guy wouldn't find the deed worthy enough, but... well, here goes nothing. She just hoped that he couldn't see her nervousness, even if she wore a helmet.

"Alongside Dredgen, I hunted down Dred Saxon, the one who had killed Tiroc, and wounded his foundling. He was cornered in a cave by us, but was given a last chance at honorable death through combat - with me as his challenger. He fought well, and hard... clearly an experienced Mandalorian warrior, and even if he disarmed me of my sword, I won the battle with the knife I had claimed from him in a previous encounter... when we found Tiroc and his foundling."

There was a brief pause before she continued. "When he was defeated, I picked up my sword again, and gave him a swift, clean death."

"A vengeful spirit, one born to a Mando'ade body. You followed through with honor even against the honor-less, this is a true honor. You, Raven Cadera, may claim name and sigil among those true Mando'ade who follow our true Mand'alor. Keep your name and the vestige's of your birth if you wish or be reborn anew under the Way."

"You must choose."

She was silent a moment, feeling a little confused by his words. And she thought she had a good grasp on traditions and traditional speak. Speaking again, she took more care to remember the words better as she spoke.

"I won't give up my name or identity as I follow Mand'alor. Cadera is the clan I was born to, and I carry the name that is thousands of years old. Not only because I was born to it, but I can't abandon it while a traitor carries the name Cadera and tarnishes it with his actions. It's a heavy burden, but I must see the honor restored to the name, as I follow Mand'alore."

"Then you will add to the long and stories history of Cadera. Remember the honor of those who share your name, serve it well. Serve under Manda'lor with the iron resolve of the Mando'ade," he recited.

Rising he would turn to his forge, "Wait here, as I finish the touches of your story upon your armor. Let everyone know Raven Cadera, the Honor-bound Avenger."

With the last words said he turned to his work, it would be all of the rest of the hour and half more before his work was finished. However, when it was the personal touches would appeal and the armor fit to her perfectly.

Raven waited as she was told, watching the process with great interest.

It was an inspiring moment, to say the least, to witness the forming of her armor in the same way her parents' armors had been made. In the same way that Mandalorian armor had been made for thousands of years, with secrets well-kept by the Mando'ade and the masters of the craft.

To her, this was already another reason of why following this Mand'alore was the right path. He had tradition, history, and the caretakers of their culture on his side, whereas many Saxons wore the filthy laminate of the Empire. Mass-produced, and without spirit.

When the process was finally over, Raven looked upon her new suit of armor with awe. Now, she was finally a true Mandalorian, through and through.

"Your work is exceptional," she said, almost breathlessly. "Thank you."
