Smooth Time [Pre-Game]

How long before they start patrolling the neighborhoods for "safety", I wonder? Better keep my head down...

"Sounds like a pain," she noted. "Nice to meet you, Dr. Nazora. Ryn Keesa."

[Tosath Nazora]

"I arrived here shortly after the first garrison, when the Imperial troops were at their highest count, courtesy of Imperial arrest. Took a few months for my innocence to be proven and release secured. So yeah, it's always been a pain here as long as I've been here, but it eased up over time. I'm hoping we're not going to see a return to the peak." Taking another sip from his whiskey, he looks into the brown liquor. "Not that anything can be done about it if that's what they decide to do."

[Fuff]

"Not much can be done indeed, except for leaving elsewhere." Fuff said with a quiet huff and a shake of whiskers. "Which is not a bad thing in itself once you get used to. Unless there's something that is keeping either of you here."

[Jaxom Ursae]

Jaxom left his corner booth for a time. But, he eventually returned with a tray of food, setting it down before Ryn and the others. C77 followed with a round of drinks.

[Fuff]

"Like the bar is keeping Jaxom." Fuff added with a smirk when the owner returned.

[Tosath Nazora]

"Kamda is my home. These are now my people. Their safety and well-being keep me here," the doctor replies. He raises his glass to Jaxom, "The whiskey does too."

[Ryn Keesa]

"Maybe," she said, looking away. "If people get hurt because of it, it's not as easy to just leave for me, either."

[Fuff]

"Ah, so you're both those types who take responsibility for more than yourselves." Fuff acknowledged it without much emotion, but he looked up more distantly. It wasn't hard for him to see over the heads of gathered patrons for he was rather tall. "Which I think makes sense only if you can do it well. Good intentions and noble goals don't get you anywhere in themselves."

[Tosath Nazora]

"I've been practicing medicine for about three decades, so I have some inkling of what I'm doing," he says with a chuckle. "But we all have our limitations."

[Jaxom Ursae]

"The people of Kamda have gone through a lot." Jaxom said. "Some have had it worse than others and need a hand or two from time to time. They appreciate any aid they get."

[Fuff]

"I don't think it's about your limitations, I believe you that you're an expert in treatments and such, and more about the limitations imposed on you by... longstanding circumstances." The Farghul shrugged, the fur realigning seamlessly in a wavy fashion.

He then smirked to Jaxom, remembering he didn't order a drink. "I appreciate any aid I can get too."

[Ryn Keesa]

"I wouldn't say responsibility for others exactly. More for my own choices when presented with a situation," she replied. "Oh... Thank you."

[Tosath Nazora]

"Well, all we can do is our best despite limitations and circumstances. Sure, we could leave this world to avoid it's troubles... but are you going to find any world without troubles out there?" he replies, taking another sip of his whiskey.

[Fuff]

"Maybe there are such worlds. The Empire's reach is long but I think it is finite." He didn't know if the Twi'lek was thanking him or Jaxom, so he just smiled. There wasn't much to thank for anyway. He liked doing good things just like the next person, though he usually had reservations about the rate of success of more ambitions ones, for reasons.

[Ryn Keesa]

"Even if the Empire isn't there, some other problem would be. Pirates, Hutt cartels, whatever," she said, making a vague gesture.

[Tosath Nazora]

"Exactly. You can have easy living for credits, but the rich don't like to share so we all have to make do."

[Fuff]

"It's not about adversity in general." The fur went up the grain a little on his neck. "But sure, I get your point." He said so genially, without getting into details why he'd disagree. They were mostly strangers after all.

[Tosath Nazora]

"But yeah, the Imperial presence here leaves the planet longing for a time when they cared for their own safety. I don't know what that time was like, but I've heard stories from KSF veterans I work with. Was a different time, one that I can't long for or feel nostalgic about since I've only ever known the world how it is since the Imperial garrison. Jaxom here probably does though, he's been around longer than I've been visiting Korso's. C77 too."

[Ryn Keesa]

"I've just seen it repeated too many times," she noted, taking a drink.

[Jaxom Ursae]

Jaxom made his way around the room, checking on other customers, but he lingered and listened a bit whenever he passed by.
