Don't Worry, I Got This... [D1ME]

[Varina Ordo]

"Sometimes I need to strangle people! Much quieter than shooting them." Unless they started kicking around. She had never actually strangled someone though so she didn't know how well it'd go.

[Mallory]

Mallory grinned, Looking at Varina. Collecting up the wire she directed both of them to follow with a sharp flick of the wrist. Walking ahead of them she entered through the door to Vex's office first before stepping off to the side for both of the others to enter.

[Manny Donos]

"See? Told you." Manny murmured as a semi-quiet aside to Varina as he stepped into the room. It wasn't entirely clear what it was that he'd told her.

[Varina Ordo]

"What?" Varina asked, not really caring what his follow up was. She headed on in to get the job. She was going to be mighty busy already!

[Honor]

At the far end of the room Vex sat with her arms crossed in front of her. With the chair turned toward the main floor she watched, the lights of the dance floor flashing to reveal her face and the surrounding room. Inside the lights were completely turned out leaving the flashes the only source of illumination.

Mallory took up position along one of the walls.

Leaving an uneasy tension in the air as Vex waited to hear why they were here.

[Manny Donos]

Manny was always happy to be the one to break an uncomfortable silence. He stepped forward, smiling.

"Hey, Vex. Long time no see, huh?" Clearing his throat, he subsided somewhat. "Errr, sorry." He inclined his head respectfully.

"So..." He gestured to Varina. "I wanted to introduce you to Varina. A Mandalorian! And she's got a Mandalorian friend, too. I figured you'd have some jobs that a Mandalorian would be good for, yeah? And if one Mandalorian would be good for it, what about two?"

[Varina Ordo]

"That's me, a Mandalorian," Varina announced with a one-two combo of a thumbs up and a toothy smile. She then looked over at the guy inclining his head and did the same. Maybe it was like a Kamda thing to do that to cool girls in charge.

Wait, why didn't Manny 'No Girlfriend' do that for her and Raven?

[Vex]

Vex listened but didn't turn her head, "Manny. I see you far more than I would like," she said. "However," she turned to face them both in her seat. "You bring me a Mandalorian? One looking for work?" she glares over at the girl. Looking her over from head to toe. "Young.." she comments to herself.

"Still.. a Mandalorian could be useful. If you are truly one," she remarked as she turned her attention to Manny. "You are looking for work again? You figure you bring a Mandalorian I will give you more credit? Unfortunately, Manny. You are correct. What work is it that you imagine yourself doing with this Mandalorian of yours?"

[Varina Ordo]

"Just for the record, I'm not his in any way. The guy doesn't even have a girlfriend." Varina smirks at him. She said she wouldn't call him Manny 'No Girlfriend' around others, nothing more.

[Manny Donos]

Manny turned to look at Varina. "Really?" He said incredulously. He cleared his throat, turning back to Vex. "I mean... she's not wrong."

There was a moment of silence.

Manny waved a hand. "Whatever! That's really not important. But I figure two Mandalorians can handle a lot of trouble. And any trouble that they can't handle is probably more in the line that I can handle. You know, the sort of thing that I'm good at." Grinning, he held up his hands, waving his fingers at her.

[Vex]

Vex smiled, the young were always so adorable. "You're right, Manny. Mandalorians are extremely useful. I am certain I could make use of one, or two. Though I cannot help but wonder," she said, shifting her gaze onto Varina. "Why would a Mandalorian be seeking work from me? Do you know who I am, sweet-thing?"

[Varina Ordo]

"Nope!" she said honestly, "Manny... 'No Girlfriend'... said that he knew someone and my Mandalorian... comrade and I decided to look into it."

[Vex]

"You seem sweet," she said, "Young, but sweet. So I will do you the favor of explaining something your friend here," she glares over at Manny. "May have not. You claim yourself to the title of Mandalorian.. some, like I, believe the merit in that title. However, when you are offering your services as a Mandalorian you must understand that it implies to me you are willing to kill for me."

"Now.. that may be true, or it may not be," she says, softening her look at Varina for a moment. "Even if it is.. are you willing to risk yourself for some money in a struggle that will offer you no other benefit? I will not be kind. You will be sent for a job, and then paid, fairly. Yet I have only a few needs for a Mandalorian and they are all rather bloody."

[Varina Ordo]

"I'm not gonna go soft on ya," Varina declared. She had already mugged some random librarian! What was she going to do, let some guy go because he actually didn't do anything wrong and Vex had sent her on an overly-cruel mission?

[Manny Donos]

On the other hand, Manny looked a little daunted.

"Uh... how bloody are we talking, here?" He said, awkwardly rubbing the back of his head, wincing just a little.

[Vex]

Vex looked to Manny, smirked, "If you're looking for someone with a soft heart, you might wish to go elsewhere. Here, we do work, instead of play.." she looked down at Manny's hands, shrugged, "parlor tricks."

Righting her gaze back on Varina, "If you are serious about going down this line of employ.. come back tomorrow, I will have something for you then. If you want to bring that friend of yours, the one who I hope matches your grit I implore you to bring them as well. It will not be friendly work, but it will pay well. Of that I assure you.." she tapped her hand on her desk.

Looking more seriously at Varina, "A girl like you.. wonder why she would need money from a woman like me," she shrugged, laughed a haughty laugh. "Regardless, it doesn't matter to me. You may find work here, and we will both profit."

[Varina Ordo]

"Ammo doesn't come free," Varina answered. Well, she wondered if that was true if you took the enemy's ammo. Weapons also don't come free, but she wasn't about to tell this lady that she doesn't even own a blaster.

"I'll chat with her about coming in tomorrow."

[Vex]

"Excellent," she smiled, looking over to Manny. "For once Manny.. you have done something that hasn't ended in my dissatisfaction.." she thought, tapping her finger on the desk lightly.

"Come here," she said, shifting one of her hands behind her desk.

[Manny Donos]

"Ummm..." Manny swallowed, then smiled, only a little nervously. "Yeah, sure thing."

He edged slowly closer...

[Vex]

Vex grinned devilishly at his unease, "Closer~" she teased, a laugh. Then, when he was close enough she pulled up her hand and placed a large value credit-stick at his end of the table.

"For services rendered.." she said, a wicked grin as she watched him.
