Kamda: A Star Wars Story,
is a story of rebellion, hope, and learning what a character is willing to fight for. Some characters will know this from the very start, some will learn this over the course of the story, and others may only find out too late.
Residents of Kamda have enjoyed peace, or the semblance of it, for some time after a rebellion some years prior was dismantled by the Imperial forces and sympathizers on the planet. In the years after that, however, the Imperial presence has lackened and many of the current inhabitants are those who would only wish to enjoy their lives out from underneath the Empire's yoke. Recently, however, something has been discovered on Kamda and the Imperial bureaucracy has been a hornets nest of activity since the discovery. A troublesome prospect for the many denizens of Kamda who have enjoyed using the planet as a means to escape the rigidity of the Empire.
Your GM, me, is a person who loves Rebellion stories. As you can tell from the title of my game, perhaps, Rogue One is one such amazing story told in this lens that I have enjoyed immensely. I'm looking for something formative with this game. I don't want hardened Rebel soldiers coming up with killer, winning strategies from the inception of the game, a war game played out between the Empire and the Rebellion. What I want, is a game of people. individuals who are driven to coming together, working together, and sometimes fighting together with the purpose of maybe not defeating the Empire but at least making the lives around them better. I want to see the people who become the Rebels. People who don't know what the next day will bring, but they know now what they have to do because they've discovered something and demanded now that they will suffer injustice no more.
I want to see how you decide, for your characters, they will try to manage that within the confines of their reality. How will they gather support? Resources? Allies? Plans? Who will they help? Will they help anyone? Will they fight brazenly or covertly? Who will they try to protect? How will they fail? How will they succeed?
With the Empire coming, how will you protect the home you have come to know and love, the only home you have left?
