Luxurious invitations (D2 LA)

[Leah kuso]

It had been a somewhat decent day. She didn't really know what to expect from this, but Leah arrived at the exact time she did yesterday. Taking a small breath, she made her way up the stairs, towards her bosses office. And the rottweiler that was likely at the door.

[Mallory]

"Ready?" Mallory asked, a grin clearly placed on her lips.

[Leah kuso]

Leah looked, eyes wide and stumbled.

"Woah. Was that a smile? Sir, you look wonderful."

She held out her arms.

"Same process as yesterday, right?"

[Mallory]

"Right," she said, the grin didn't vanish. Stepping up she quickly and thoroughly frisked Leah for anything she might have on her person. Holding onto anything that could be considered a weapon. Once she was finished Mallory flicked her wrist to indicate behind herself and walked Leah in through the door.

Inside, Vex was busy talking with three men. Two were Weequay and the other was a Nikto. They spoke with a confident cadence to their voice. Mallory directed Leah over to the side as the two groups continued to speak.

"Our first negotiator did not return, and the Majordomo says Tetto the Hutt is getting impatient with your answer. So, answer, will you merge your operation with ours that we might both profit?" the Nikto says.

[Vex]

Vex glanced over at Leah as she entered with Mallory, where she had only a scowl before she smiled now. Looking back to the Nikto she rose in her seat and waved over one of her men. "Unfortunately," she paused, placing a hand down on her glass desk. "Whatever your name was.." she continued, shaking off the thought with a wave of her hand, it didn't matter.

"You came to Kamda, my home, asking me to give you a very size-able cut so that you don't come here and take it from me because.. you are afraid I am too powerful? Does my presence challenge that of the Hutts somewhat?" she waved a hand, dismissed the answers that seemed to quickly be bubbling out.

"Here is my answer to you," she indicated one of her people who had approached carrying a small box. When it was opened the Nikto turned pale and fell backward, another flung his arm to his hip to retrieve a blaster pistol and knocked the box over in the process. From the box a head went rolling along the floor and Mallory shot the one Weequay who managed to get his blaster to hand. While the other was tackled down by one of the other suits.

"W-w-what is the meaning of this!" the Nikto shouted, shocked, his voice trembling.

[Vex]

"Kamda.. is mine," Vex said, stepping around the table and over the outstretched arm of one of the body. "Tell your boss, tell the Hutts, that it will remain that way. Their presence will not infect these streets and I will not tolerate seeing another one of you.. their people, on my planet. Do you understand?"

[Honor]

"You- You- You're dead! Taking on the cartel like this.. the Hutts, you're dead!" he stammered.

[Vex]

"Do you understand?" she repeated slowly.

[Honor]

"Y-yes.." he said, defeated.

[Vex]

"Good.. now please, run along," she said, turning back around she went back to her desk. Stepping over the corpse once more to do so. Meanwhile the Nikto made for the door and ran like a bat outta hell. From behind the desk Vex opened a drawer and pulled out a sleek blaster pistol. Walking it over to Leah she looked at the girl, caught her eyes.

"Are you ok?" she asked, faux-sweetly.

Mallory, grin as emblazoned as ever, left Leah's side and went over to aid her men.

What. Just. Happened.

Everything moved so fast. Having been lead into what seemed to be a discussion, Leah expected this to require her skills. Instead there was suddenly a shootout. Leah jumped at the first shot, her eyes on stalks as she watched, thankful that she hadn't been shot.

It took her a few moments of Vex staring at her before she managed to speak.

"What...what just..."

[Vex]

Vex brought up the hand not on the blaster, which was turned away from Leah quite intentionally. Brushing Leah's cheek she shushed her like a mother might a frightened child, "You're alright. Everything is alright. Let it process, you'll come to understand," she said softly.

[Leah kuso]

There was a nod, as Leah tried to think everything over. She knew Vex was a criminal, she knew she was bad news. It just brought back painful memories.

She took a deep breath, and then spoke.

"What's going on? Is there trouble for the bar?"

[Vex]

"There was, and there will be," she said calmly. Reassuring Leah by running her shoulder a little.

"You wanted to help, right? You wanted to know what was going on?" she said, faux-sweetly.

[Leah kuso]

"I did" Leah nodded "I have had a feeling that something bad was coming for a while now, but..."

She paused, then shook her head.

"No, bad is coming isn't it. The Hutts you said? That's usually the worst thing short of Imperial troops descending I heard."

[Vex]

"No, it isn't good," she said, brushing her shoulder before turning to stand beside Leah. "They want to come and take what I've built, what we've built," she said looking to Mallory and then Leah.

"You don't want that, right? Kamda belongs to us, doesn't it?"

[Leah kuso]

"Why do they think they can just walk in and demand things? Are the Hutts really like that."

Leah looked annoyed.

"I don't want that at all. I'm happy with things as they are."

Well, minus the crippling debt...

She looked to Vex.

"What can I do to help? I'm not much of a shooter or a fighter."

[Vex]

"There will be so much you can do darling," she said, smiling. Taking a hold of the Leah's hand, "but first.." she slipped her blaster into Leah's grasp. Walking her over toward the center of the room and careful to step over the body without thinking of it or letting her think of it much. Just guided her over it.

"There is something I want you to take care of," she looked down, having Leah follow where she looked, and centered their view on the other Weequay guard that Mallory held firmly on the ground with her own blaster pointed at him to keep him there.

"Shoot him," Vex commanded.
