Kamda

The middle of the shift; Leahs break time. She was tired from the dancing, and knew that soon the private dance requests would start coming in thick and fast, so she wanted to make the most of her break.

She had gone to the bar to get some water, watching the girls currently on stage with interest, and listening to what was going on around her. Even now she couldn't shake the niggling feeling that something was wrong...

Be as it may, there was a familiar Farghul by the counter, just one seat away. Since she was hard to miss, he invited her with a smile. Apparently, he also had a break of sorts. "Rough night?"

Leah smiled at the Farghul, moving over with her glass of water.

"Nah. so far it's a good one, but the end of shift is usually worse than the start. Once people are drunk and start making requests" Leah managed to keep her expression at dislike rather than 'ew' that she felt "how's it going? Vex liked you enough to keep ya around huh?"

"Not as a mainstay, but it suits me just fine. I like going my own ways." The large feline looked at the Twi'lek with a bright glint in his eyes that somehow didn't dispel a bit of mystery in it. "You seem a bit more moored, having to weather both ebbs and flows?"

"Sounds like a nice way to say 'gotta pay off debts'" Leah said with a shrug "don't think I ever caught your name, would be nice to put a name to such a talented singing voice. I'm Leah."

"Thanks, Leah." The Farghul smiled. "I drop many names here and there but I guess of all people you can call me Fuff."

He tilted whiskers a bit. "Don't wanna pry too much, but does your paying off have a time horizon? I've seen deals like that when the debt only grows over time and the life thereafter slips away."

"Fuff. Nice name" Leah said with a smile, thinking it was rather close to 'fluff' which was quite fitting "as for the debt, well it has a number. That number...is pretty high, so we'll see. My working here is paying it off, with a tiny amount of the wages going to keep my rent and cover food. It's not great, but been in debt from before I was born so" she shrugged "maybe one day."

"Unless you take part in a profitable heist, pay your debt all at once and then run off before anyone catches you." He smirked.

Leah laughed at that. "If you find one that can pay off all my debt, let me know and I'll be all over that! You the adventuring type then?"

"Not by default or choice, but if you sit in one place and do little to tilt things in your favour, this is where you'd be caught, and with nothing to bargain with." He smiled forlornly. "For me, seeking ways out of some tight pinch is the way to survive."

Leah paused at that, sipping her water. The cat had a point, and she had no argument for it. However...

What can I do?

She eventually spoke.

"I'll have to keep my eyes and ears alert then. It's not a small debt, not at all, but I don't want to be like my parents were. Hey, if you find something, spare a thought for this little Twi'lek dancer and her place, got it? You seem the sort to find things."

"You keep your eyes open and your cones sharp, and I'll be on the lookout for something like that as well. Life's so random that crazy things can happen any time." Fuff nodded, and smiled. "Wandering out sometimes helps. Do you have time for that?"

"As long as I'm not on shift I can go anywhere" Leah nodded "club is only open evenings and nights, and my shifts alternate. Tonight I'm on nights, tomorrow I'm on evenings. During the day I'm free. Why, where you thinking?"

"I have a small thing going on and if this thing leads to another I'll tip you off." Fuff shrugged. "For now, don't think much about it. Something I hate doing is not living up to a lady's expectations."

"You're such a gentleman" Leah said with a smile "that sounds cool though, already got some plans going! All I got is my dancing and a feeling that something big is about to happen. That's my exciting day in a nutshell, but tomorrow is another day right."

"That's the only perspective you need, that tomorrow is another day of you going on." The Farghul smiled. "It seems like the nicest people can be found at the galaxy's edge these days."

"Well, when you're out here you only have each other. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of people who are entirely into self preservation, but if you don't work together at times you'll end up left with all the trouble and none of the reward" Leah frowned "my parents were like that."

"I'm good at working together at times." Fuff smirked cat-wise.

"I can tell by your performance before" Leah winked "I better get back to work sweetie. You gonna stay for a lil longer? I'm on stage next."

"If you're on stage then it's not my place there right now." He tilted his head. "So I may just stay around and enjoy watching you."
