A Troublesome Matter [Day 1, Early Afternoon]

There was a posting about a job and word spread fast in certain circles. Pokosta was looking for those who could perform some security work for him, a set of able bodied individuals. There wasn't much more in the request but there was a promise of reward for an extended contract. Staff at the entrance of Pokosta tower stand at the ready to receive people and get them in to see Pokosta when he's ready.

[This is a start to the plot-line involving Pokosta industries, skills that will be targeted are brawl, martial, perception, and other forms of social investigation.]

[Varina Ordo]

Sure, she was a sixteen year old girl. However, Mandalorian heritage was sure to add some years of experience automatically. And sure, she wasn't able to wear something particularly nice or even intimidating for the job but she had the attitude for it.

As she waited outside, she practiced her knife tricks. It weaved through her fingers, her thoughts on looking as cool as possible rather than the mismatch of "high-class guard duty" and "lethal weaponry."

[Roxi]

Another teenager had heard of the job. She was probably a bit older than the 16 year old, though. Roxi had no idea who or what Pokosta was; though of course when she actually arrived at the tower she got the distinct feeling they were... kind of important. Just one of her famous *hunches*... She started having a few doubts as the tower's entrance got closer and closer. Working *for* rich people seemed like it wasn't a very piratey thing to do. But then again, if the job turned out to be distasteful, she could use her time to 'case the joint', as it were.

Roxi noticed her 'partner in crime', and decided to sneak up on her from behind.

"That's a very small knife, you've got there."

[Solork Tan]

"Small knives have the advantage of being concealable. It means that she may effectively shiv the target while they are focused on what looks like a more pressing threat."

Solork creaks his knuckles, the servos priming on his robotic hand, knuckles popping on the biological. Work in scrapping had been lean of late. While working security brought a number of foreboding memories back, it was work. Legal work, and if all went well, there wouldn't actually be a need for violence in a security gig.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that. It's not as if they haven't used that excuse before.

Solork squints, recognizing a familiar mob of blonde hair. "Oh, it's the junk girl."

A receptionist at the desk, a petite blonde woman in neatly styled attire spoke up with a professionally distant tone, "Is this your assemble party for your meeting with Mr. Pokosta?"

[Varina Ordo]

Varina rolled her eyes at Roxi. What was she doing here? Were these guys taking just about anybody? And was this man going to be as odd as that Manny 'No Girlfriend' guy?

"I can't speak for the others," Varina replied to the receptionist. She stashed away her knife and crossed her arms, kind of at the ready.

[Roxi]

"...Junk girl? I'll have you kn--" She was about to say something when they got interrupted by the woman.

"Wait, we were supposed to form a group? I just... showed up."

[Honor]

"Mr. Pokosta is taking visitors to discuss terms in group format," she explained. "That he has a requirement for multiple individuals this often serves as the best manner for interview. Of note, you are the fourth group to form and apply today. Please, make yourselves ready and inform me when you are ready to proceed."

[Varina Ordo]

"Looks like we're a team," Varina answered with a shrug. She looked to the others; was she the leader of this motley crew? Was it worth taking them on, potentially slandering her great name?

[Roxi]

"Are we... is this is a solidly-sized group? How big were the other groups? I mean, I was expecting to do this by myself so I'm good either way I suppose."

[Solork Tan]

Solork looks over the other two humans. "I have worked with worse. Not much worse, but I am a professional who is alas without a team. This will suffice"

[Honor]

Seeing their agreement she collected a folder, tucked it under her arm, and circled her desk. Directing them with her other arm outstretched toward a wall of elevators she said, "If you are ready then. Please, let us proceed."

[Varina Ordo]

"Last I heard, it's good not to insult your team," Varina said to the older guy. She shrugged and followed along... She wondered if this was all a test of her patience. Rich folk could often be so prickly.

[Roxi]

"Oh he's just a rival mechanic who doesn't know how to talk to people," she said with a smile. "He's alright. I think. And I'm ready, unless you guys need to hash this out?"

[Solork Tan]

"I am unfamiliar with the rules for pick-up teams." Solork nods. "See, I already am learning something new. Not the worst teamup I've seen"

[Honor]

Waiting for them all to gather, the young woman would instruct them all to enter an elevator as it arrived. Heels clicking against the glossy surface of the buildings flooring. Once they were all inside she stepped in as well and stood center-front, selecting the appropriate floor. Inside the elevator was luxurious and had space that most elevators did not.

"Please be aware," she began, actively reading off from a script in the folder she'd grabbed. "Any attempts to retrieve your weapon will be classified as a threat by security personal and treated as a hostile action. Should you breach this protocol you are aware that legally you will be treated as a violent trespasser. Further, you will make yourself aware that Mr. Pokosta is a man more accustomed to dealing with genteel society and has lacking patience for rudeness or abrasiveness. Such as a time where you are asked to leave the building you must do so as quickly as possible otherwise security will force you out. Terms are not to be discussed with Mr. Pokosta, and you are to be aware that he will offer you more than normal rate for all services provided to him in this manner. You can be sure Mr. Pokosta is aware of the price of your labor."

She spoke slowly, sure to make certain that each and every word was taken in. Tucking the script into the folder when she was done. Once she was finished the elevator had climbed nearly all of the floor at speed. Feeling the weight of the altitude in their boots.

Turning toward the group she said, "Please, be on your best behavior, and understand that stepping off this elevator is an agreement to the defined terms."

[Roxi]

"Well, I'm sure this will go well," she said, lacking any and all sarcasm as she was apparently quite optimistic about her chances to not screw this up by being rude or ab..abra...that other things.

"I don't really know what all of that what you just said meant, but thanks for pressing the button so we could go up the elevator," she said to the woman, as Roxi stepped out of the elevator.

[Varina Ordo]

"Sounds normal," Varina said with confidence even though she had never been hired for a job before. Heck, she was the type of girl to accept seven credits for a protection racket.

Was important to know though that this guy wouldn't appreciate her knife tricks.

[Solork Tan]

"Fair enough. The threat is unnecessary. A professional is bound by their reputation." Sokork simply crosses his arms, getting on the lift

In front of them they found a large, long white table which served as a place for meetings. This was his office just below the penthouse and shared the same stunning view. In total there were about six guards visible, suits that are packing and each of them ready. At the other end Pokosta was stood looking out over the city, a well postured Kel'dor in elegant garb.
