Varina had a bit of a problem. A garrote was only able to strangle one person. A grenade, though, those could blow up a group of guys. And so, she walked through the market, looking for grenades to buy. Did this place sell grenades to teenagers? She hoped so!

Manny was walking alongside her, still loaded down with full vest and backpack.

"So..." He began, "... is there like a brand of grenade that's better than other grenades? Or are they pretty much all the same? I mean, I guess you don't get attached to any one grenade, huh? Because it explodes?"

He looked at her. "Or are you like, 'wow, I remember that one grenade, it blew up really well'?"

Finding a shop seemed like a simple enough thing to do. "I'm not really looking for any specific brands," she admitted. She wasn't even sure what those were! But she wasn't going to admit that to a girl who had no girlfriend.

Manny frowned, considering. He was a local, and a criminal! Maybe he'd know a better place...

Manny doesn't find a good place, has no idea, but he does find a 20 credit stick someone dropped.

"But grenades," Varina murmured. She looked back at the guy. "So I know what I want so I don't technically have to step into the back room."

They merely crossed their arms, and waited.

"I can't afford that though. I need the special merchandise to protect myself."

The keep looked at her, furrowed a brow, "Stuff from my shop isn't what you're looking for if you want to protect yourself. Twenty credits to take your browse," he shrugged, "gotta make my money somehow on this deal."

"You don't know my situation. I might need your stuff to help me get outta being poor." Varina patted her pockets.

The being shrugged, "Come back when you're not then, worried about making myself poor on these streets."

"So you're saying you aren't poor but I am?" Varina turned around and started yelling: "Hey everyone! This store discriminates against the poor!"

"Varina! Ugh! Be cool!" Manny groaned.

With a flourish, he produced the credstick he found. "Here, this time it's on me. But you gotta cover me next time, okay?" He passed her the credstick.

"Hey, kid," the shop-keep with the back room walked up and was about to start speaking when Manny came to the rescue. "See.." he says, taking the credstick, "this kid understands. Learn from him," he pointed and then gave them both a wave. Walking them into the back-room.

"Pick from what you like," he said, standing by the door.

"But I saw online that's how you get discounts," Varina whispered to her companion. She sighed and walked on in. "Now I'm inclined to buy even more stuff so I won't have to pay it again."

She narrowed her brow. "Is that why there's a charge?!"

"Hey, I'm not a kid. I'm like twice her age!" Manny frowned. "Or... not twice. But I'm older than her, anyway."

He shrugged. "Could be. Or maybe it's because they've got the real premium grenades here."
