Not So-Empty Roads (Day 1 EA)

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"I'm fine really, thank you for your concern though," Jyvress's smile returned, if a little muted. Then her stomach growled. "Ah...." She sighs, "Alright food it is then."

Jyvress blinked as she glanced at the Twi'lek again, "Ten years ago?" Her frown returned, "Ah...I was a grown woman when my father passed. My further sympathies...you must have been young."

[Leah kuso]

"Follow me then!" Leah motioned for the woman to follow, shrugging at the comment. "It's fine, I can't do anything about it now. Just learn from their example and not fall into the same mess they did, which I'm working on. Be careful yourself too, get a simple job earning some money and you'll be able to travel again. Not worth getting hunted over debt, right?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Ah, I fortunately haven't fallen into debt yet," Jyvress followed the surprisingly open stranger, "Have you been in the city your whole life then?" The librarian didn't add the alternative that occurred to her: or were you forced here after your parents' death.

[Leah kuso]

"Yep! Born here, lived here, knowing my luck die here" Leah laughed "I don't hate the place though, so that helps with not seeing the galaxy. Not everyone gets to vacation to different systems" she peered back at Jyrvess "even if it left her in a bit of bother. Oh the place is over there!"

She pointed to a rather run down looking diner that didn't seem too popular.

"It's not as bad as it looks I swear."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"There are worst places one could have been born." Jyvress managed a chuckle, "Much worse."

The diner didn't look so bad to her....she had also eaten in much worse. "Clean and good food is all a place really needs." And cheap would be nice.

[Leah kuso]

"It's decent food at least" Leah nodded, entering and holding the door to the cafe for Jyrvess before finding somewhere to sit and passing the other girl a menu. The menu did seem to mostly have different kinds of noodles, but not a huge variety. The prices were very cheap.

"Sounds like you've seen a lot of places. Got any stories to share?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"...ah nothing particularly..." pleasant "...interesting. A lot of moving around and a few terrifying discoveries of what 'cargo class' means to a freight captain." Jyvress let out a sigh of relief, "Any recommendations?" She asks tapping the menu.

[Leah kuso]

"Well if you want something very Kamda the noodle dish of the day is the freshest. It's likely whatever meat was caught this morning, but you never know what. The only assurance is it's not a humanoid species" Leah said with a chuckle "I usually just get noodles with vegetables because, well, it's the cheapest. I hope 'cargo class' doesn't mean you're tied to the cargo!"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Close enough. Your bed is tied to the cargo," She remarks with a soft chuckle, "Vegetables and noodles sounds nice."

"I wouldn't recommend travelling cargo unless you are low on funds," Or desperate. "The ship's crew basically treat you like a walking, talking ship container. And the talking part especially irritates them. 'Sit down, shut up and the less we see you until we need money or you leave the better' is the cargo class motto."

[Leah kuso]

"Wow, really? I'll avoid cargo class then! It must be so cheap for you to want to travel like that. Would almost be better to just work hard and buy your own ship right?" Leah said with a wink "easy as that!"

She waved someone over to order two waters and the vegetable and noodles before speaking.

"What planets have you been to?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"I was born on Corellia, mainly spent my higher education and employment years on Courscant." She leans back thinking...how many planets had she been too? Most she didn't bother remembering, just names on map. "Tatooine was one, Piroket another, probably a few more in Arkanis sector. To be honest...a lot of it ran together."

[Leah kuso]

"Courscant huh? Got a lot of visitors from there lately, although more of the security sort" Leah looked at the woman curiously, she didn't look like an Imperial guard. "So you've seen a lot of places, which is your favourite so far?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Courscant," She answered, "Well it was, things have changed dramatically." Jyvress smile grew melancholic, "I used to work in the Library of the Republic, until....well a management change. It was near enough I could see a lot of the old landmarks."

[Leah kuso]

"I think the whole galaxy is going through that same change" Leah said, peeking outside "although it'll take a lot to change this planet. It's pretty set in its ways, even with that Imperial presence."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Quite a few are, several questions were raised in the senate chambers. I distinctly remember word that the Alderaanian and Chandrilan senators were most vehement in their opposition." Her own eyes wandered outside, "The Republic stood for millennia and only changed slowly, the Empire...well I think it is finding its changes more disagreeable to the galaxy then they had hoped."

[Leah kuso]

"Politics. Never really cared for them" Leah shrugged as the food arrived. It wasn't the most happy looking noodles but it was editable.

"I just try to keep out of trouble and follow my gut. It hasn't let me wrong so far, but if they keep bringing more armed guards like I saw a while ago it might get worse."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"I can understand the feeling..." She took the first bite of her noodles. They weren't spectacular but for the money...well there weren't that much better. "But politics has a habit of biting you if you ignore it." Jyvress takes another bite, "The armed guards for instance..."

[Leah kuso]

"Out here politics are more...hidden away I guess" Sakura said thoughtfully as she looked over the food "anything trying to be more in your face is quickly moved on, as it causes problems for the locals."

And other sorts..

"The armed guards however are a different issue, and I don't know how some parties are going to take that."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"It often is until it bites you," She remarked before taking another bite. Jyvress pauses as she considers the second statement, "...I hope these other parties use caution and prudence. The Empire has methods of dealing with troublemakers. Some more destructive then others."

"But that's a bit of a darker subject....how do you enjoy your job at the Lux?"

[Leah kuso]

"Caution is in short supply at times" Leah said softly, a small frown "but yeah, that's a less fun subject. Lux? I get to wear pretty costumes and dance to the attention of many. What's not to like?" she laughed "it's a lot of fun to work at, I do recommend going to visit if not coming to work there. Dancing is a really enjoyable passtime."
