(D2 LE) Double Trouble

"Nah, they should owe me and my mom," she said incredulously.

"When dealing with such beings, it is best to assume that everything has a price. Loyalty, or honoring a past debt, does not mean much unless it brings money into their pockets," Praxton commented.

[Raven Cadera]

Raven felt a bit confused, but she had to assume that Varina was being sarcastic. She was never good with sarcasm herself.

"So... uh... since Varina don't have the money, and I don't have the money either to help her... we beat them up, to make them go away?"

[Claymore Frost]

Claymore comes in hunches over, out of breath. "Sorry... I am late..." he pants out. "I was doing a little slicing, and may needed to get out quick..."

[Varina Ordo]

Varina gave the newcomer a quick wave. "Well," she said with a shrug, "Yeah, I guess that's our option, right? How far do we take it though?"

[Honor]

"For now," Praxton says, crossing his arms. "If we fight, you are certain to make an enemy. If you do not have payment on time, and they demand it, you will demand they wait for longer. Do not harm the messenger, but his guards should be relatively cheap. This should buy you time until you may pay them back. If not.." Paxton sighs, it was not something he wished to suggest.

"The Mando'ade will stand with you."

Raven nodded to Claymore as he joined them, offering him a protein-bar as well if he felt like having one. Unlike earlier, she wasn't wearing her helmet now inside the enclave.

"... How much time do you have to get them the money, Varina?" she asked, remembering the bounty she had been working on earlier that day.

[Varina Ordo]

Varina swayed back and forth, hands still in her pockets, doing a little bit of mental math. "Oh. Tomorrow. Yeah, that would be tomorrow." Brain fart.

[Claymore Frost]

"Thank you, Raven. Much appreciated." Takes the bar.

[Raven Cadera]

She gave a brief smile to Claymore, and then did a double-take when Varina said that the deadline was tomorrow.

"Haar'chak, Varina... tomorrow?" There was another string of curses in Mando'a muttered under her breath. "... Might just have to shoot the messengers then."

[Claymore Frost]

Clay looks at Varina and then at Raven, and then back Varina. He decides to still quiet and pulls he helmet off and eats the bar.

"Not the messenger, but his men," Praxton reminded, "the messenger is sure to be traveling with armed guards. Deal with them, renegotiate with the messenger. Most of these beings are cowards."

[Varina Ordo]

"Oh. When you say deal with them, do you mean like beat them up or blowing them up?" Varina scratched her head. "Well, like, I only found out about it yesterday. And I thought I could deal with it today but I don't think that's happening."

[Honor]

"Your decision, young one, but I would be mindful that they will likely seek reparation for the damages you incur," he advised.

[Raven Cadera]

"Well, whatever you decide to do, Varina, I'll have your back. That's what it means to be Mando'ade." Raven gave Varina's shoulder a friendly bump with her fist.

[Claymore Frost]

"Indeed." Clay puts his helmet back on. "I am at your back."

[Varina Ordo]

"If that's the case, we could... knock them out? Seems like they can't get mad about anyone getting killed if they're just beaten up." Varina sighed. "But that's a lot harder than just collapsing a tunnel on them or something."

[Honor]

"Especially when they don't worry much about the same," Praxton commented, but he looked between Raven abd Claymore. "I don't know this one, but if you have our Sister beside you, you will be fine. Still," he said.

Looking to Raven, "Give the young one the chance to find her legs?"

"I think Varina got that," she gave a brief smile.
