Re: Aliit Ori'shya Tal'din (D3, EA)
It sounded strange to her that the one who was Mandalore was considered 'ill prepared'.
She continued to press the attack, until he would call it quits. "But..." Raven stepped back, catching her breath, "which part of the culture is failing? The ways of Death Watch, or the New Mandalorians...?"

"Death Watch knew the true heritage of our people, and the new Mandalorians.. they may very well have crushed the spirit of what a Mandalorian is to be. Yet I have found that even some of their ideals are honorable, worthy of saving and preserving. Mandalore.. does not see it the same," he said, shook his head and lowered his stance.

The helmet made her thoughtful expression unreadable, and she circled around him to look for an opening, her guard loosening up a bit more from her body to allow for better movement as she watched his stance. She was making her own attempts at mimicing and finding what worked for her.
"... Both sides are extremes, but both have ideals worthy of value," she agreed, testing his defenses with some more jabs.

"Exactly," he said, providing her with an ample ability to test herself, watching and guiding her as best he might. "My wonder is what the Mandalorians could become if we followed our martial ways but instead.. instead of conquering perhaps focused ourselves in a way which did not offer condemnation from the other beings across the galaxy. That we might even be seen as more than the most elite warriors in the galaxy."

Raven was wholly dedicated to the Resol'nare's ideal of protecting one's family and home. There was glory in combat, but the terrorism actions of the Death Watch against the Mandalorian people had been... unforgivable in her eyes. It went against everything the virtues of the Mando'ade stood for.
His words gave her some pause, as she wasn't sure how to intepret them in regards to the code. "... What do you mean more?"

"We are warriors who answer to none but our own, to Mandalore who is the strongest among us. What if the people of the galaxy did not need to live in fear and find respect of our ways because of what we are known to accomplish but.. perhaps, protectors. There is much in this galaxy, I have seen, that could require the aid of warriors without equal. Hunting the most dangerous creatures, removing threats to the safety of the galaxy, gaining our glory by conquering that which threatens lives instead of constantly proving ourselves against worlds we conquer as our ancestors did. In some way.. we would instill the peace in the galaxy that the New Mandalorians wished so much for in our own people but maintain the martial traditions that the Deaths Watch fought so hard to protect."

There was a lot of confusing things she was feeling and thinking right now. And it was another moment of her being really kriffing glad she had a helmet on so that Praxton didn't see her face and the emotions that were going on there.
Whatever was going on in her head, she wasn't able to express it, or really put her finger on it to even consider saying it, so she did the only natural reaction her instincts could fall back on. Punch.
It wasn't a good punch, as she ended up connecting her fist rather clumsily against his armor, and she had to stop and give her hand a shake to ease the initial discomfort. At least it wasn't completely without progress, as she didn't lose her guard like she had been earlier.

D3 EA Punching Praxton because he's stupid-sexy-Mandalorian. Using the same dicepool as last time: 3eA+1eB+4eD+1eS 3 failures, 1 advantage

"Your punch lacked momentum, strength," he said, putting his hand on her forearm which might otherwise have been used to block the strike if he hadn't seen the lacking momentum behind it prior. Shifting himself that he might better view her stance,"But your stance is solid. Defensive."
"Shall we continue?" he asked, releasing her forearm.
(Potential fade-out to training montage moment)

"My improvement is thanks to a good teacher." She flexed her hand a few times after he released her arm. "Yeah... less talk, more work."
This would just be one of my rounds of training in the days ahead.

Thanks!
