Force-filled rumours (D2 EN)

The gossip throughout the club in the evening was about this...Jedi? Leah had heard of Jedi, her father especially spoke of them as bringers of hope before they were exposed. He never said it, but Leah was certain that a small piece of hope in her father died that day. He really believed in the Jedi it seemed.

Were they really bad? How can a group that was spoken of like heroes for so long suddenly be the enemy of the entire galaxy?

This was pulling at her again. That niggling feeling in the back of her mind that this mattered to her somehow. Maybe because of her father?

Either way Leah made her way to the slums, and again just allowed her gut feelings to guide her.

An old building, it usually fit a family or two and was about three sizes. Patrolled by KSF officers who seemed impossibly bored. Yet, there were a few, that appeared on alert. Perhaps they were the ones that knew more of what was really going on here.

Or they just didn't like being in the slums when it started getting late.

In hindsight, it was rather obvious that there would be a lot of guards. In reality, it was rather annoying. A small part of her told her that she was being silly and should run. Her gut instinct however told her this was the place. The place of what though?

She tried to be quiet and unnoticed, listening to what was being said as she got closer. A little Twi'lek wasn't important right?

Quite a few of them grumbled about their having to be posted here. One noted how they didn't have much of a choice, this was way above their paygrade.

Couple others wondered if a Jedi could really have made it this long, after what they'd done.

So the Jedi is here...in this house?

She looked at the house. Was there a way in without getting noticed?

From what she could see there wasn't a clear route to getting into the house without being noticed. However, she was at least certain that if she played her cards right and kept low that she should still be able to manage to sneak in a window or something. Right into the bee's hive.

Solork had heard similar rumors as well, but was having considerably less luck. Something about his *ahem* "manner" tended to stand out a lot more.

"Hey, you!" one of the officers shouted over toward Leah. Jogging up to her quickly the man looked her over. "You.."

"...work at Lux, don't you? I've seen your dances! Well.. one of them, can't really afford to go there many nights with everything going on. What're you doing here, you live nearby or something?"

There is a noise, sounding closer to a patrol checking up on someone. Solork moves to the side, peering around the corner to see what is going on.

"Hey, you!" one of the officers shouted over toward Leah. Jogging up to her quickly the man looked her over. "You.."

"...work at Lux, don't you? I've seen your dances! Well.. one of them, can't really afford to go there many nights with everything going on. What're you doing here, you live nearby or something?"

Crap.

"Hi!" Leah turned around, giving the man a sweet smile "I do! It's lovely to meet you. I hope you can come back soon, I'd love to see you there again. I do live nearby, but my cat has snuck into this house and I was trying to coax him out. I'm sorry, am I causing a problem? I'll be really quick I promise" she put her hand on the mans arm, giving him a distressed look "he's really special to me but he's quiet young, I don't want to lose him. Can I get him? Please?"

Looking between the building, and Leah, the officer tried to think. Loosing his collar somewhat he looked back to leah, "I'm really not supposed to. I don't know what's going on in there but I've been told to not let anyone enter.." he said, unsure of himself.

"A-alright.. quickly, but I'm coming with you," he said, his voice unsteady. "Just.. please, be careful."

"Thank you so much" Leah said, giving the man a quick hug "I'll be as quick as possible. The cat is called Jed."

Crap, I didn't want him to come with me! Ah well...

"Through the window or the door? Why is this house locked away anyway?"

"Orders from up above," he shrugged, "beyond my bosses' bosses' paygrade or somethin'" he gave a quick waved to a co-worker who shook his head in disbelief. Leading Leah in through the door he looked back, "You really do live here, don't you? Wanting to use a window.." he chuckled to himself and shook his head.

Inside the house was chilled, colder than the outside by far. There was the bottom level and two more above it. Though the bottom, from a glance, appeared empty.

Leah looked around as they entered, peeking around as she did.

"How weird. Why is it so cold in here?" she said as she walked around the bottom floor "can you see him? He's a ginger tabby."

"I-I don't rightly know," he admitted, honestly. As they searches the building Leah felt a rug toward one of the rooms. Though there was nothing in there she felt.. something...

"Don't you think a cat wouldn't come in a place like this?" he asked.
