A Presence I've Not Felt Since... [Pregame]

Ryn was working on her apartment, as usual. While she likely wouldn't stay on Kamda all that long, it was still worthwhile to at least make the space she was taking up livable. She'd gotten rid of all but the largest trash, at least, and that was set aside and ready to be taken to the garbage dump.
She brushed the dust off her hands, surveying her work. All in all, not bad. The old apartment didn't really smell bad anymore, and the major holes were patched up. There was a functional place to cook and the refresher was working and decently clean again.
It was still a slim apartment, of course, but it wasn't like a former Jedi trainee needed much.

Euvid groans and rolls over trying to get back to sleep but couldn't. She walks out of her shanty to see her neighbor tidying up her apartment. Blinking her emerald eyes in the sun, things start to focus. Euvid turns to her neighbor. "Mornin'," she says groggily.

Ryn managed not to actually jump when her apparent neighbor spoke up, but she did spin quickly on her heel to see who was speaking. She eyes the new person suspicious. "Morning. I'm Ryn. Just moved in a few days ago."

Euvid clears her head and vision and gives Ryn a friendly smile.
"Nice to meet you, Ryn. I'm Euvid. I'm pretty new here too. Want to go get something to eat? I'm starving."
Euvid grabs her utility belt and buckles it.

She smiled a little awkwardly. "I'm a little short on credits at the moment."

"I heard there was a relief center not too far from here. They might have something to eat. If nothing else, we can learn a bit about this place," Euvid said as she started walking in that direction.

"Ah... Sure, I guess," she replied with a shrug, trotting after the Zabrak.

As they walked, Euvid tried to take in everything. Trying to commit everything to memory. This was no different than the slums of Naboo. Truly, wherever the Empire goes, suffering followed, especially for non-humans.
"What do you think about all the garrisons getting redeployed?" Euvid asked after a while in a hushed voice.

"... I'm suspicious. I'm wondering what they've found that got them so in a tizzy," she replied, her voice quiet and serious.

"I mean, it's gotta be pretty important, right? And it sure would be something of a public service if someone were to find out what exactly was going on over there, right?" Euvid asked; her jovial tone was replaced by an equally serious, yet still hushed, tone.

"Definitely important, but only a service if a person doing that were to not get caught. Otherwise it would put them on more alert and put a lot of people in danger," she noted.

"Then 'they' will have to be stealthy. But, I think 'they' may be able to gather some information about it on the street before venturing out there," Euvid replied, her emerald eyes still looking around, taking note of the surroundings

She glanced around, as well. "If someone were to do that, that would be a good start."

"They should see what they can find out on their way to the relief center," Euvid said allowing a slight smile to cross her lips. "After all, nobody can fight tyranny on an empty stomach."
