Why can't magic move boxes? (D9 EA)

[Leah kuso]

"It does, but there's a slight problem. I'm...not sure I know who that person is right now. I've found out some things about myself in the last few weeks that I didn't know before, and it's making me question a ot of things" Leah sighed "and everything else happening as well. Is it the right time to even try these things? I'm also rather nervous what he'll think of Vex...."

[Manny Donos]

"Yeah. Vex." Manny sighed. "I don't know... I used to want to be a part of her crew. Now I'm not so sure."

After a moment, he smiled. Reaching out, he gave Leah a gentle nudge. "So, you wanna tell me about some of these things? I'm a pretty good listener, y'know."

[Leah kuso]

"If I told you I'd have to kill you" Leah looked at the man, a frown on her face "it's...really dangerous. Like, make Vex look like a cuddly kitten in comparison level of dangerous. Executed level of dangerous. I don't want to put you in any more trouble Manny, you're a sweetheart" she put a hand on his cheek

[Manny Donos]

"Haha, yeah." Manny laughed. There was a brief paused. "Wait, what?" He blinked. "Like... really?"

Instinctively, he brushed his lips against the inside of Leah's wrist. "I mean... I'm not gonna make you tell me. But maybe I could help. I'm not afraid of trouble. Trouble's my middle name!" Manny frowned. "Actually I haven't got a middle name. Not that I know of, anyway. But Manny Trouble Donos sounds pretty awesome..." He nodded firmly.

[Leah kuso]

Leah paused, trying to think of a way to describe it.

"If I say it's to do with the most hunted people in the galaxy, would you understand?"

[Manny Donos]

"Yes." Manny nodded. The most hunted people in the galaxy... that would be... hmmm...

There was a short pause.

"No." He said.

[Leah kuso]

There was a facepalm.

"Manny...you're so simple sometimes. If you don't know, then it's maybe a good thing" She smiled "because if you accidentally spilled it, you'd likely be tortured for more information."

[Manny Donos]

Manny smiled sheepishly. "Well... yeah... " He ran a hand through his hair. "I never managed to get much education."

His expression grew more serious. "But hey, I promise, I'd never make a mistake like that. And even if I was tortured... well, I mean, I'd rather not be tortured. But if I was..." He shook his head. "I wouldn't give up my magic partner, no way."

[Leah kuso]

Leah sighed.

"Fine."

She opened her eyes, and looked at Manny.

"It's regarding...Jedi."

[Manny Donos]

Well, that was something Manny recognized. His eyes widened.

"Jedi? Like, you found one? Or... what?" His voice had dropped to a whisper.

[Leah kuso]

"I...have the same abilities as they do" Leah commented quietly "and I met one. Or two. Or three."

[Manny Donos]

"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat..." Manny said. He rocked back on his heels, hands coming up to clutch his head. He cleared his throat. "Wow. Okay, so, uh, wow. Wow."

He looked at her, still stunned. "So... you can do some of the stuff like they do? Like what?" One eyebrow went up. "Can you actually read minds?"

[Leah kuso]

"Kinda. More read feelings. It's a little confusing still, but I think I could maybe read minds if I knew what I was doing" Leah frowned "not that I would. Honest!"

[Manny Donos]

"You can... read feelings?" Manny blinked, remember all the times she'd been around him wearing just a towel, or just undergarments, or gotten changed...

"Aha ha ha..." He laughed nervously, clearing his throat, doing his best to push the thoughts aside. Why was it when you tried not to think of something, you couldn't stop thinking about that thing?

Right. Jedi. Laser-swords. Laser-swords are awesome. "So, are you going to get a laser sword? I guess there's not really Jedi to give you one. The Empire killed them all, didn't they?" He suddenly gave her a look, deeply concerned. "Leah..."

[Leah kuso]

"Now you see what I mean by seriously dangerous" Leah nodded, sighing "and why you can't tell anyone. And I mean anyone. I'm not a Jedi. I won't ever be a Jedi, the Jedi are gone and they're not coming back. However, something in me is tied to that world, and I can't just ignore it. I wanted to learn more about what it means to be...the term is force sensitive."

[Manny Donos]

"Force sensitive. Okay." Manny tried it out.

Slowly, he nodded. "Well. If that's part of who you are, well, yeah, I guess you've gotta figure it out, huh?" He smiled. "And hey, as your partner in magic, it only makes sense that I help out if I can, right? I mean... I know it's not the same. But still."

[Leah kuso]

"I know you'll help" Leah reached out to give Mannys hand a squeeze "and don't worry, I'm not about to become some nut waving around a laser sword and killing people. I don't like killing. Still...please, say nothing. To anyone."

[Manny Donos]

"I mean, laser swords are cool..." Manny sighed. "But you're right. Killing isn't cool. It kinda freaks me out a little. But... if you have to..."

Grimacing, Manny shook his head. "Right, sorry. I won't say anything, to anyone, no matter what. I promise." Smiling gently, he gave her hand a return squeeze.

"Thank you" Leah said with a nod "I'll also make sure nothing can come back on you if I suddenly become some kind of wanted criminal. It's kind of scary really, I don't even know if I want to go down this path, but...my gut says it's the right path."
