Day 2 LA - What's the Fuss

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyvress stood just at the end of one of the many allies down in lower-class residences. She had been planning on visiting one of the local bars, but now that thought seemed distant. Something had riled up the Imperials and that could mean trouble for her. Best to just mind her own business and stay hidden in the crowd...

[Varina Ordo]

Perhaps it was the librarian lady's hope to go under the radar. But no, it was Varina, coming in to bother her!

"Hey lady," Varina said. She put her hands in her pockets and smiled impishly. "Got more money for me?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyvress froze for a second before recognition hit her, "It's not been a week yet." She stifled a small chuckle. "You wouldn't happen to know what's get the locals upset would you?"

[Varina Ordo]

"Yup, not a week yet." Dang. She wanted more money in case the lady and forgotten. "Some Imperial did something I guess. I mean they're always doing something but this time people are real upset."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"I see." Jyvress rubbed her chin, "I guess its pretty normal everywhere else." She remarks before looking back to Varina, "Have you eaten yet?" It would probably be for the best to slip off the street anyway...and Jyvress did feel kinda sorry for the kid.

[Varina Ordo]

"I dunno, probably good to help out and get in the way later." She shrugged. She wasn't exactly a rebel with a cause.

Varina was usually self-conscious about her height. But with adults constantly feeding her, maybe it wasn't so bad. "I had my cereal. Have you ever tried mixing all the different types into the bowl? Like a little bit, not like having a ton of cereal bowls all at the same time."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Oh....I mean err nevermind its not important." Jyvress shrugged, "I actually have...but it wasn't by choice."

She motions down the street, now that things seemed to have calmed down. "I'm sure we can find a food stand...I'll buy." Her hand slid into a pants pocket, feeling the diminishing pile of credits inside. How much could a kid eat? Of course said kid was a street tough...

[Varina Ordo]

"How do you go against 'the man' on accident?" she asked, genuinely confused.

She peeked at the food stand and shrugged. Fortunately for the librarian lady, Varina didn't actually have a huge appetite ever.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"No I mean...well the Imperials throwing their weight around," She glanced around, "It's well...there was quite a bit of it on Courscant before I left."

Jyvress frowned at the memories, but keep her thoughts hidden. Her smile returned as she spotted a hot food stand. The prices were good...the selection was not so much: meat-like substance, bread-like substance, and colored paste that Jyvress assumed were condiments. All in a nice little puddle of grease. "Is this alright? Get what you want."

[Roxi]

As luck would have it; or maybe it was the Force or some supernatural nonsense like that; *another* familiar face passed into their field of vision. It was Roxi!



Sporting... some pretty nasty looking new bruises on her face. She'd *definitely* been on the receiving end of some serious punishment. She seemed to be in a good mood, though. And not paying *any* attention to her surroundings.

"You serve any nerf-nuggets here?" She asked the person manning the food stand, taking a position next to the other two without even realizing they were there.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Both of them? Jyvress sighed and turned expecting to see a blonde space pirate, only to take in a surprised gasp, "What happened to you?"

[Roxi]

"Huh?" Roxi turned to the total stranger asking what had happened to her. Wait, that wasn't a stranger at all!

"Hey, library lady! Small-knife girl!" She gave them both a wave, then pointed to a bruise on her face, "This? Oh, I punched a gundark."

She seemed to be serious.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"A gundark is an approximately 2 meter tall, 16 clawed, keen eared, red ball of murderous intent." Jyvress frowned, "I would kindly ask you not make up stories to make a fight sound more interesting young la..." She clamped her jaw shut and looked embarrassed. "I mean that seems rather improbable. Regardless have you seen a doctor?"

[Roxi]

"Yes. Red. four arms, I *knooowww*," she theatrically shrugged, "He got me pretty good with them. But I won, he ran away. Why would I lie about that?"

She really didn't appear to be lying.

Which of course meant she was either a crazy person who genuinely believed she'd fought a gundark when she didn't. OR, she was a crazy person who had genuinely punched a gundark. One might wonder which of those two possibilities was the more terrifying one.

"And yeah, the white-haired doc helped me out. You know, apparently he helped me out before, a few years back. Small universe, huh?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"I....see?" Jyvress looked at the two odd girls, "...well for now all that matters is you got aide. Here let me buy you lunch." She felt her credit stack shrink a little, cheap noodles was becoming the future staple diet. "Just, don't try to out eat a gundark."

[Varina Ordo]

Varina tilted her head. She shook her head, because clearly she was the cooler renegade. "Okay," she said, looking at the food. She then shrugged. "I can eat basically anything."

Well, gundark punching did sound cool. Meant she'd probably be good for a fight later!

[Roxi]

"I don't think I'd be big enough for that anyhow, but thanks for the food, miss librarian!"

Roxi definitely wasn't going to say no to a free lunch.

"Hey, you wouldn't happen to know how to slice into old security and maybe use a blaster, right? I found some... stuff. But there's this door in the way. The blaster is for any other gundarks that might show up."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyvress bought three meals and drinks before answering Roxi's questions. She smiles nervously, "Why would you think I know how to use a blaster or slice computer systems?" Then came an innocent sound 'eh he he', "That's not usually associated with librarians." She offered a meal to each of the girls. "And where did you happen upon this door?"

[Roxi]

"Oh, I don't know. Books come on computers, right?" She shrugged. "Anyway, there's an old abandoned base in the desert. That's where it was. I think it had enough power for an attempt to open it up with, whatever slicers do. But I didn't feel like I should be the one to try that. Anyway, I could feel like... like there was something dangerous behind the door. Old secrets. Worth salvaging!"

She took a bite from her nerf nuggets, and then looked like she realized something. "Ah, but I have first salvage rights!"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"I suppose I could look at it for you...but I have plans for the evening." She says hesitantly, "I'm not much use in a fight." The librarian shrugs, "And I don't have a slicer's 'kit' beyond just a datapad. So it could be tricky."
