[D7, EA] Something About a Girl

[Jaxom Ursae]

"You look a bit like Jaina." he said. "I thought you were her at first."

[Honor]

"Well... that's totally weird," she said, but shrugged, "not sure if that's a good thing.. definitely not anymore," she said, looking down the opposite way from where Jaxom came. Then around to the area around them, she choked on a word she never uttered and tried to hold back the tears but it wasn't working.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"So, what brought you here?" he asked.

[Honor]

Max cried, for a while, but when she finally got control of it again she brushed her nose, "Jaina.. wanted me to meet her today. I was half through getting ready when she showed up and said we had to go, right then. So.. she brought me here," she indicated around, "our spot.. our little.. home away from home," she said, her voice getting shakier.

"She told me everything.. how she had to leave, how she wasn't going to be around a-" she choked on the word, swallowing it down tears welling up and running down her cheeks. A need to wail that she just barely suppressed. A need to curse, and scream, and break something.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"She left you here?" he asked, looking around.

[Honor]

Bringing together her resolve, she straightened her jacket and said, "Yea.. she broke up with me, and left. Said it was for the best."

[Jaxom Ursae]

"I'm sorry." he frowned. "I haven't known her long. But, I know things have been difficult with everything going on. I should go find her."

[Honor]

"Yea.." she seemed to drift off, close up. So much so that Jaxom would feel it was time to leave and to start searching. Yet.. right before he left..

"Follow that way out then go north, north-west. You can pretty much follow the alleys all the way there. My guess is you'll find her there.." she said, looking around at their space like it was foreign, someone else's.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"Find me at Korso's, if you want someone to talk to." he offered before leaving.

He followed her directions quickly, hoping he could catch up.

[Honor]

Leaving her behind for now, to her grief, Jaxom would be able to follow her directions easily. It would take time, a lot of time, but eventually he found himself at the edge of the city limits. Here he was standing on top of a long raised wall that was about a person and a half tall facing the green plains out on the horizon. It was a beautiful sight but he was a man on a mission, and when he looked he would find Jaina sitting on the edge of the wall passively with her legs dangled over. Looking out to the horizon.

[Jaxom Ursae]

Without a word, he went and sat beside her.

[Jaina]

"Only you this time?" she asked.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"Yep." he nodded. "With everything going on, I thought it best to search alone. I met Max. She's a nice girl."

[Jaina]

"Yea.." she said, shaking her head. Picking a piece of wall off next to her and tossing it down below, watching how it fell and looking to see if she could find it in the grass.

"She deserved better.."

[Jaxom Ursae]

"You deserve better, too." he said. "I'm going to get you somewhere safe, but I know how hard it is to leave everything behind. I wish I could make it easier."

[Jaina]

"Yea... whatever.." she said, tossing another rock without watching it this time.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"I know we've insisted on a lot of things to keep you safe, restricted you and kept you away from your normal routines. I'm sorry about that." he apologized. "But, all of this is really up to you. What you want to do. Where you want to go. What you want to take with you."

[Jaina]

"I know," she said, "I know.. it's all for the best, really. Got to thinking about it.. it's the right thing to do, to go away. Helps keep my family out of the fire, Maxie too. It's just," she tosses another rock, "it's whatever.." she said, looking out to the plains. Green grass, blue sky.

"Ya know?"

[Jaxom Ursae]

"Make a wish." He said. "Tell me what you'd want to see when that ship drops you off."

[Jaina]

"I just want to know my family and friends are home safe, especially Maxie, she didn't deserve any of this and.." she hid it well, but she'd been hurting with it a lot too, "well.. she didn't deserve for me to leave her like that. Just.. what had to be done."
