Kamda

Jyvress slipped into the local library, figuring she would start with the less watched source of information. After a brief conversation with the caretaker, she settled in at a terminal and began searching for everything she could on the CIS base. Starting with hopefully its commander and what units were stationed there. Any strange lights seen near the base, just every scrap of information that might help her piece together what went on out there. And what they might have hidden in there.

Jyvress, knowing well the connected nature of all knowledge, was prepared for a long while of research. Each of the below topics can be researched here but each one will take up half of a time-slot, meaning she'll need more than one to cover them all.

Jyvress started her search with what military records were public and news clippings on the battles and base. She tried to focus in on any key base personnel that might set off red flags and of course the unit itself. Then she turned her attention to stories surrounding the base and area, missing people or strange occurrences. The former librarian even went over general legends of the place...in case something had drawn the CIS here to begin with.

Finishing up for the moment she leaned forward to rest her head among a pile of disks and open monitors. The work was exhausting!

Researching the War, Jyvress is able to discover much about the situation that brought the base to being on Kamda. As an neutral planet in the war, not declaring itself for either side, Kamda was in a unique position to keep it's trade flowing as long as it could be reasonably certain that it's products weren't aiding the war effort. Their neighboring planet, and the Republic, were the main two beneficiaries of this trade.

For a time, given the planets remote nature, this was acceptable to both the confederacy and the Republic to leave Kamda to itself. However, the Confederacy knew that eventually they would need to halt Kamda's resources going to the republic and claim them for themselves.

This lead to the establishment of the base on Kamda, operated entirely by their droid army as it was still in the preparation stage when the Republic launched their attack. Kamda Security, having found the base, became worried about the nature of it and what it might mean for Kamda. A strong security force as they were, they weren't a match for an occupation army.

Thus, when the Republic offered their support they accepted with the condition that they dealt with the base and returned. A prospect not entirely benefiting the Republics contribution but the trade and freedom of the people appeared worth it.

During a quick and brutal conflict in the sands, the Clones coming down from Kamda through the mountain pass. A pitched battle lead to the utter destruction of the base and it's facilities. Removing the threat of an army marching on Kamda.

Soon after these events the Empire began to rise...

Researching the lore of the area, she could be reasonably certain that there was not much of note that happened in the annals aside from the war. No mysterious ruins or ancient artifacts. Surely, the only obscure note that she discovered is that it was likely where the clones put down the traitor Jedi commander that previously lead their men.
