Hold the Line [Day 9, Late Evening]

Post by Honor » Tue Aug 04, 2020 1:19 pm

Event Type: Combat
Participants: Four (+*)

Over the course of the day fighting has broken out all over Kamda as cells all across the city become active and start fighting. While the Empire quickly responds to these outbreaks of fighting they were unprepared for the sudden but major push that came earlier in the day. Taking the spaceport was the work of the resistance operatives earlier in the day, and now they just needed to hold it long enough for the crew aboard the Star Destroyer to do their job.

While the operatives up above did their job, you and yours need to complete the difficult task of holding the line.

Mechanics:
Four players start at a heavily barricaded area. Here they must make their stand and stop the Imperial reinforcements from re-taking the communication tower.

Every other round a new squad of Minions will reinforce those on the field. Every third round a new PC left in reserve may join the fray from the fight elsewhere.

Win Requirement:
Defeat the Nemesis level enemy commanding the forces.

Lose:
Players lose their foothold, if everyone goes down they are at risk of death or capture by the Imperial forces.

Her heart wasn't really in it today, but there were others who depended on her. Who looked to her to be strong and to continue to fight against the Empire. Her friends, for one.

Once more, the woman clad in beskar'gam took to the battlefield. The t-visored helmet had become a common sight for the militants. On the right side of her body, the armor was painted with details of black feathers tinted blue, like a raven's plumage and wings.

Azina was ready to stand on the front lines and do what she had perhaps been training her whole life to do: wield her father's sword in the fight for freedom. Actually, she thought, as she gripped the long sword with both hands and stared at the blade, it's probably time to start calling you my sword.

"Whaddaya say, shall we take our relationship to the next level today?" Azina spoke softly but out loud to the weapon, certain it made her sound crazy, but not in this moment concerned about that. And she knew the blade didn't gleam in response to her question, but that didn't stop a confident smile from taking over her face.

Azina draws steadiness from her cohorts, seeing they are all ready.

Lysa was there of course, she never missed a chance to blow up some imps. She huddled behind the barricade next to Raven "Hey Ray, I miss being bunk buddies. You're very cute when you're asleep." She said giggling while she loaded and checked her equipment.

Manny was there, ready as ever to hold the line!

"Hey guys, check out what I got!" Manny waved around a fancy new high-tech pistol. "Is this a fancy enough gun to name, Raven? Vex said I should call it 'compensating', but I'm pretty sure I can come up with something better."

"On your orders," on of the troopers responds, "you heard her men, get those Rebel scum moved aside and claim that communications tower! Target the strongest among them, show them the superiority of the Empire!" on that, they focused on easily the most well armed and armored target: Raven Cadera.

Raven grinned under her helmet as the Empire finally showed to have some competent shooters, as this was the first time in a good while she had felt the sting of a blaster bolt that had managed to hit a weak spot in her armor. Though the heavy cloth and padding underneath the beskar still soaked up most of the brunt.

"Today is a good day for our enemies to die," she shouted to her comrades as she took a defensive position in front of Lysa and aimed her carbine at one of the groups dangerously close to them.

Hopefully this would keep the heat off of Lysa and Manny both to start with.

With her opening volley Raven secured most of the heat, Group 3 coming in from the side to put some fire down on Raven. Trying to buy their comrades in Group 2 some time to breath. With their shots they score some hits that are sure to leave the woman feeling some pain!

Seeing his friend weather so much fire made Manny wince. He pulled out a stim from his military pouch. "Raven!" He warned before he stabbed her; didn't want her to think he was attacking her, after all.

And then he fired his new blaster for the first time!

"Pew!" He yelled as he unleashed bolt after bolt into the wounded group. "That's how it's done!"

Two troopers fell under fire from Manny! As they hit the dirt their comrade found this most distressing and returned fire on Manny! However, in their haste and pinned down from all the fire the last remaining trooper made no effective hits.

"We're taking heavy losses!" he shouted into his internal system, alerting the commander.

Meanwhile, eager to reinforce her troopers placed under her command by her superior Commander Talcik the special forces soldier with the other two minions called to her side moved forward! Group 4, the troopers called in to support the Special Forces Soldier, will join into the initiative order on Round 2.

"Push through that line Troopers, hold together! The Emperor is counting on you!" she said, rushing forward.

Sensing her opportunity after the extraordinary blast, Azina rushes to attack the nearby group of stormtroopers. Her thrumming sword swinging in arcs, it became apparent she'd misjudged the distance, meaning no stormtroopers were endangered by the swordplay. Realizing the enormity of the mistake, Azina settled into a defensive posture, ready as the disoriented stormtroopers closed in.

Four troopers are blasted, others are shot down, Azina rushes the last group left standing but finds them more resilient than she expected. Down the main hallway they can see, in the distance, the fast approaching leader of these men. Behind her a few troopers for reinforcements. Then, on either side, groups reinforce the fight from side passages leading to other parts of the spaceport.
