Roxi's Time-out [Day 1, ME]

Regaining consciousness Roxi comes to somewhere else, in a small cave outside in the desert. Groggily she looks around but it's hard to focus on anything, from what she can tell most of her things are here. Shifting she accidentally bangs into an empty stimpack, surely one of hers, left in her arm. Propped up in a comfortable and safe location it seems she was dragged here by someone, something.

Out in the distance from the cave there is something moving toward her but her eyes are too blurry to make out what it is. Whatever it is, it's dragging something in her direction.

She didn't really *have* a lot of things; but she double-checked to make sure her knife was there... and ideally, the droid she'd salvaged as well. That could be the thing that made all this worthwile, after all. If she found her knife present, she would pull it to her, weakly ready to fight whatever was making that sound, should it turn out to be hostile.

It was simple enough to find her knife, but the droid wasn't there. Only the clanking sound that was coming from dead ahead of her. Slowly, it came into view..

"Hel-lo," the droid spoke. Wrapped around it's hand was the wire that held the salvaged droid as it dragged it along through the sandy-dirt. "You are bet-ter?" the droid spoke.

"Uh," she was certainly not expecting an old battle droid to emerge into view. Dragging her salvage. Asking if she was alright. That had never been her experience with droids.

"What happened?"

"Found.. you, old-base, wounded crea-ture. Carr-ied out, brought here," the droids points at the stimpack, "helped, yes?"

"Uh," she looked down at the spent stimpack, then back up to the droid, "yeah, you did. Thanks. What is that place, anyway? It seemed somewhat familiar. There's... something there... too... but I couldn't get past the door, so I went down another tunnel and uh... anyway. What's your designation?"

There was a sudden, loud, clanking sound when the droid finished moving, "Clank.." the droid said, "Is how this unit has been referred to previously. The ba-se is that of the Con-fed-erac-y, old war base. Many units built.. man-y lost."

"The confederacy? I heard of that, but that's like, forever ago though, isn't it? I know there was stuff like that on Raxus Prime too."

She looked at the droid, wondering how it was still active.

"Do you know what they were doing in the base? I... I felt... I don't know. *Something*. Coming from past a locked door."

"Clain does n-ot, kn-ow," the droid replied. Turning around so it could gather the droid closer to Roxi and where it has left her knife as well.

"Oh," she said, a little dissappointed, "Then... would you know how to get past the door?"

"Op-en it?" the droid said, clearly not understanding the difficulties involved.

"Well, it's locked, yeah? And there's not really much power left to try and open it."

"Ah.." it thought, perhaps, "P-ower it?"

"Yes! How... how would I do that?"

Well, she knew of course she could probably just hook a generator up to it or something... but it wasn't like those were easy to come by.

"T-here cou-ld be emergency gen-erator in one of the stor-age com-part-ments. This unit does not have ac-cess to any mem-ory ban-ks be-fore the wipe at the battle of" the droid's replication of the name of the battle is corrupted and it lets out a horrendous sound of garbled outputs.

She winced at the sound it was making before it died down. "Okaay... where would you *guess* those storage compartments are, then? You've probably still seen more of the base than me since that wipe."

"Oh, there's more Gundarks there? Do you know where exactly this nest is?"

Maybe she could avoid the nest. Probably not, though. She'd probably need to come back with some backup, she thought to herself with a mental sigh. That meant splitting the take of whatever they'd find in there.

"Do-n't know. You will be safe?" the droid asked.

"I think I'll be alright to make it back home, thanks."

She carefully stood up; knowing that she was still an inch away from passing out again but pushing through regardless.

"What will you do? You could come with me if you want. I don't really have a decent place to live, I don't have any spare parts, and... well, I don't really know any reason why you'd want to come with me... but, you could if you wanted to."
