Buy'ce Gal, Buy'ce tal! (Day 10, Early Evening)

by Raven Cadera
If there was anything Mandalorians knew, it was to celebrate a victory!
There was food and plenty of it. There was drink and even more plenty of that. It was loud. A proper Mandalorian celebration for a good fight, and for Raven it was also a celebration for the friends she had made - for the allies she felt she had found for her people in this difficult time. People who respected the Mando'ade as warriors. And in her case as a friend too.
The tiingilar had been spiced to the stars and back, its heat daring anyone to test their mettle and sinuses against it. The ale was sweet and strong.
Her injury made it hard for her to be in armor today, but for those part of the celebration there was none among them that Raven did not trust enough to see her without the beskar'gam or the helmet.

"Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!" Manny said as he saw a familiar face. He waved. And grinned. And gave a thumbs-up.
He walked over. "Check it out. Pound cake!" He teld out a medium-sized baking dish; inside was a golden-brown cakey loaf, obviously dense. And eggy.

Jyrvess had managed the impossible...find all the ingredients for Corellian Rhyscate. So she found herself carrying a box full of the sweet pastries and a Corellian spice loaf as well. The spice loaf even came from decent meat...so perhaps not authentic experience.
"Hello my friends." She was grinning despite looking like a pack animal with the food boxes balanced in her arms.

Lysa showed up as well, how could she not!? they had won a big victory and all her friends would be there. Friends. That was a weird feeling for Lysa most of her relationships didn't get that far. But those were thoughts for a time with less fun to be had.
"Hey guys! I can't cook worth a damn so i brought booze instead!" She exclaimed her arms certainly full of a variety of bottles of varying size and color.

"Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!" Manny said again, giving Jyr the same wave grin and thumbs-up treatment Raven had gotten.
"Whoa, good looking stuff, Jyr." He said, his eyebrows going up. "You want me to take something? I'm used to juggling, so it'd be easy." His friendly grin because a thoughtful frown. "In fact, some of those pastries are about the right size..."

"Hey, Lysa!" Careful observers might note that Manny's voice went a quarter-octave lower. "Alright! What'cha got?"

Lysa grinned at Manny and shook her head hearing the voice change "A better question would be what I didn't bring! Even managed to grab a bottle of Corellian Whisky Jyr might appreciate that one eh?"

"My friends, su cuy'gar," Raven greeted each one with a wide grin and a pat on the shoulder. "I look forward to trying all the things you've brought!"
It was... strange. To be gathering like this. A large and festive gathering like this was something she hadn't experienced in years. Not since before she lost her family. She remembered the celebrations of the seasonal changes on Concord Dawn. How she and her brother would stay up late past their bedtimes to see as much as possible of the feasting and games.
"I'm so glad you all made it through yesterday."

"Well...it wouldn't hurt Manny," She held out both boxes for the magic man to take, "And thank you Miss Lysa, I had used up what I could find making pastries."
Jyrvess blushed a little, "Eh, you guys had the hard part I hear. All I did was lie my way past some Imps." Her expression turns solemn, "Though not everyone that went up there with me came back." She gave a silent prayer to the Force for the departed soul of the pacifist Doctor, the universe was a worse place without such men.

Manny accepted the boxes, balancing everything easily. He looked at Lysa. "Hey, Lysa. Trade you this pound cake for that green one? Dunno why, but that green one is just saying 'Manny! Drink me!' You guys can hear it, right?" He grinned.
His expression turned more serious as Jyrvess spoke. "Yeah. Maybe we should pour one out, huh?"

"To eat, there's tiingilar, haarshun bread, even some uj cake. Oh, and some barbeque stuff for those who aren't adventurous for food." Raven didn't mind doing the job as host of sorts, but for her it was more like doing like her parents had done when there had been large gatherings.
"We have ne'tra gal, there's some tiihar as well, for those who want stronger drinks. And plenty of beer and ale. Those who have fallen will have their names remembered tonight," she assured Jyrvess. "If you will share the tale."

Dredgen, Kagr, and Dex all arrived together with another woman who was without armor. Kagr seemed to be in particularly good spirits, laughing as they arrived while Dredgen seemed sour. Between them Dex beamed with pride and on a small cargo lift brought her kill she made not long ago.
Dredgen, meanwhile, held his smaller kill in his hands.

Raven waved to her fellow Mandalorians as they joined up. Then saw the scene and put the pieces together. "A good hunt, it seems?" she chuckled, smirking as she looked between Dredgen and Dex.

"Would have had better luck at a fish market," he grumped.
"Only say that cause you lost the bet, big guy," Dex teased. While Dredgen was quick to follow up and try to grab her but she expertly dodged out of his grasp.
"You are getting good, little one," Kagr commented in his own. Laughed again. "Cocky, it's a good sign," he laughed.

"She has good spirit indeed," she agreed with Kagr.
Raven laughed at the interaction, knowing that Dredgen wouldn't actually harm Dex if he had managed to get a hold of her. "Someone's a sore loser then, Dredgen," she snickered. "Well done, Dex. I don't think I have much left to teach you when it comes to hunting now."

Varina, for her part, kept away from her fellow Mandalorians. She instead lingered next to Manny. "Hey," she said, "If only you had a girlfriend to give a celebratory kiss to."

Jyrvess just nodded at the comment, she would tale what she new of the Doctor when the day turned to memories. But first they should eat. She patted Manny on the shoulder, "Yeah."
Her smile returned, "Don't eat all my pastries, Manny." She leaned into to whisper, "I would suggest trying my spice loaf first, I think the Mandalorian's food will kill your tongue."
When the Mandalorians arrived she gave them a wave. And when Varina made her comment, her head turned to the teenage dirtbag.

Clay walks in and gives Raven a nudge on the shoulder. "Su cuy'gar, sister. Hello, Jyrvess and everyone."
He looks around the place.

"Su cuy'gar, Brother," Raven returned. "Drink and food a plenty for us all here. Granted that Dredgen doesn't drink it all up to drown his sorrows at losing."
Yes, it was fun to poke the big bear.

"Sure thing toots!" she said with a wink "but keep the cake share it with the others!" she slide the bottle to Manny and heard Varina and smiled at he with barely restrained giggle at the girl.
She then bounced over to Dredgen "Hey you still owe me a kill sometime since you stole mine while rescuing me."

"Uh..." Manny rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. "Haha! Ha. Yeah. If only." He cleared his throat awkwardly, fighting down a smile as Lysa bounced away.
Turning away, he set the food down on the table, snagging a bottle and a pastry as he did so. And then, at Jyr's suggestion, a slice of spice cake.
"Varina was pretty awesome in the fight last night." Manny told Jyrvess. "Showed up late, but then, uh, stabbed a bunch of them. In the neck." He frowned. "I'm making it sound nastier than it was. It was good, really."
