Buy'ce Gal, Buy'ce tal! (Day 10, Early Evening)

Raven nearly choked on the last of tiihar in her glass as Manny said the B-word. "Wha--" a couple of coughs interrupted her protests as she had to deal with booze in her windpipe.

"... You mean... *cough* Praxton? He's not my boyfriend," she protested, her face red. Probably because of the coughing.

Dredgen, having been ready for this his whole life slapped Raven on the back, hard. "Hah!" he barked with his laugh. "I see how comfortable you have become in your helmet, Sister," he said, preparing for retribution, "you read as if a book was written on your face."

[Raven Cadera]

"He's not?" Manny said, scratching his head. "See, that was really unclear. And I was definitely picking up on some sort of vibe." He shrugged. "My mistake. You sure he's not?"

He cleared his throat. "Anyway, moving on, since I totally already apologized... Okay. I need a volunteer."

"Manny..." Raven glared at him as she put down her now empty glass.

Still red in the face, Raven held down another cough even after the slap to her back from the big bear, and looked to Dredgen as she cracked her knuckles.

"The book of me kicking your ass... Copaani mirshmure'cye, vod?" It wasn't a serious threat - the two of them had reached an understanding of sorts, where light violence was just a regular thing to sort things out, and a punch here and there was just normal. "Or would you rather volunteer for the magic trick?"

"I've seen you kill a Saxon, don't need to see you take down an Ordo," he raised his hands in mock surrender, chuckling. "I know how to pick my battles. I volunteer for the magic trick," he said, looking to Manny.

[Manny Donos]

Manny gave the Mandalorian a curious look. "Are you Raven's..." He cleared his throat. "Uh... nevermind. Okay, I want you to pick one of these cards, show it to everyone but me, and then put it back in the deck."

He fanned out the cards for Dredgen to choose.

Dredgen did as he was instructed, but before he managed to show it to anyone else Dex was already on her tippy-toes and holding onto his shoulder to get first peek. Dredgen whispered to her, and Dex replied in not-as-quiet of a tone, from what people could hear she was telling him which card it was.

Showing off the card to everyone, (Queen of hearts equivalent?), and then put it back into the deck. Watching Manny closely from behind his visor.

Raven laughed, and it kind of trailed of into a nervous ha ha ha...

"Ah, well... uh... didn't think trekkin' through sand for hours to fight a giant crab was something a city girl like you would be interested in." She awkwardly put a hand behind her own head to fidget with her hair.

Luckily, there was a diversion shark doo doo doo doo doo. "Hey, Tranq! You made it! Come over here, Manny's gonna show us a magic trick."

A hairless brow raised, as he approached the group. His eyes focused on the magician as he began his trick, a slight smile on his face as the festivities continued around them.

Manny shuffled the deck again.

Then he moved over to the shark and the Twi'lek. "Now, can I have the two of you put your hands on the cards?" He fanned them out again, letting them do so.

[Tranq Sayzin]

"Uh... sure." Phroth nodded, reaching out. Large, webbed fingers splayed over the deck. His eyes looked to the man's. "Like this?"

[Leah kuso]

Leah, chuckling, also put her hand on.

"Like this, Magic Manny?"

[Manny Donos]

Manny grinned at both of them. "Yes, exactly." That gave him all the cover he needed to palm the card...

He turned back to Dredgen. "Now, sir, see if you can find your card." This time, he handed him the deck, letting him search futilely through it.

Dredgen did as he was instructed, but before he managed to show it to anyone else Dex was already on her tippy-toes and holding onto his shoulder to get first peek. Dredgen whispered to her, and Dex replied in not-as-quiet of a tone, from what people could hear she was telling him which card it was.

Raven watched the interplay between those two with some amusement, and filled up her own glass with more tiihar, even if she was feeling a little woozy already from the combination of painkillers and alcohol.

As Manny turned back to Dredgen, she leaned forward, watching with great interest at the trick.

Dredgen reached for the cards but accidentally dropped them! "Ah, sorry about that, let me get those for you!" he said.

[Manny Donos]

Manny's smile quirked a little, but stayed steady. "Sure, sure, no problem. Everyone, I promise, greasing the cards wasn't part of the show!"

[Honor]

Picking them all up, he handed the deck back to Manny to check that they were all present. Stepping close, being sure he had a firm hand, and then clapping hard on Manny's shoulder. "Good sport," he said, "is it all in order?"

It would be.

[Manny Donos]

Manny glanced down at the cards. "Sure, sure. Okay. But, you couldn't find your card, huh?"

He held up one hand, fingers spread. "Raven, quick, toss me an egg!" Manny said, grinning.

[Raven Cadera]

"Huh wha?" disturbed from her drinking, Raven realised she'd been holding onto these eggs that Manny gave her for some reason. Careful not to throw it far away with her good arm, Raven did as Manny said and tossed him an... egg.

Then she kind of looked very confused about what just happened.

[Manny Donos]

Manny caught it, spun around, shook it with both hands, and with a great "Aha!" he threw the egg to the ground. It broke, of course, as eggs tended to do when thrown to the ground.

Underneath the yolk and shattered shell was the card Dredgen had selected.

Manny spread his arms, grinning.

Picking them all up, he handed the deck back to Manny to check that they were all present. Stepping close, being sure he had a firm hand, and then clapping hard on Manny's shoulder. "Good sport," he said, "is it all in order?"

Raven squinted at Dredgen, certain that something was going on.

But before she could figure it out, Manny smashed the egg to reveal the card. "No way!"

Manny, again, had the most enthusiastic audience in the Mandalorian woman, who was trying to understand how that could even be done!

With big beefy hands Dredgen clapped, almost loud enough to make everyone who hadn't been looking look right here. "Well done! Well done! Bravo!" he said, laughed, "Be careful," he says, patting his chest in the same spot where Manny's inner pocket would be on his jacket.

"Careful you don't poke yourself with skills that sharp!" he said, his voice wasn't very convincing. There was clearly a pun in there.

Manny grinned at Raven. It was always good to have someone like her in the audience.

"Yeah. Sharp." Manny nodded at Dredgen, smiling in total incomprehension. After a few moments, he did check his pockets, though.
