A Most Dangerous Game [Day 5, MM]

"I agree," he said, a firm nod. "Had I been alone I wouldn't have treated him as fairly as you did. I would have pushed the bastard against the wall and done just as I promised and cut the words out of his mouth as if to erase that he said them. Yet.. Mandalore is a man of tradition. Sense.." he shook his head, "the rigidity of his belief belays sense."

"What happened here, we keep the details to ourselves. None will ever hear from me, Sister. All will know you only for the truth of what you did here today, and that is to have eliminated a threat that threatened our family. Threatened the enclave. Avenged one of our brothers," he said with no shortness of confidence.

"Don't mock our traditions," she retorted, though not harshly, as she did have a newfound respect for him. While she didn't know the mind of Mandalore, she knew why the traditions of the Mando'ade were important to her, and why it was something she had dedicated herself to so strongly.

Because without it, she knew she would be just as bad as the Hangman. Without honor... just a murderer, and a killer. It helped keep her sane and rooted in a sense of purpose, and something greater.

"Not sure how I feel about all this secrecy, but very well. You have my word." Raven gave a curt nod. As the cool air was now becoming unpleasant for her exposed face, she wiped some of the blood splatter off her helmet, readying herself to put it back on again.

"I would never," he said, with a seriousness that relayed the inner truth. "Yet, we must recognize when a cur like this one intends to use our honor against us. Mandalore would demand we play into his trap and still rise higher. I say that it is smarter to recognize when you are being player, that it makes you a better warrior. Which one of us is right? We will see when we get to Manda."

"We are joined in this, Sister."

"Mm," she listened to Dredgen's words, and placed her helmet back on. "You're right, Brother. There's no... loss of honor in recognizing the deception of others."

A bit unsteadily, Raven got back to her feet. "Maybe head back now... wait, what do we do with the body?"

"Leave it for the carrion, bury it im a ditch," he shrugged, "it does not really matter. If he was worth anything he is in Manda now, but I doubt it," he resisted the urge to spit, considering the helmet.

It seemed almost a pity, to leave him like that. She hadn't been able to do anything for her family after they died... no burial, not even taking them down...

Shaking her head to dispel the pain of the past, Raven walked away from the dead Saxon. Almost in a hurry before she changed her mind.
