New Beginnings [Jyrvess's Epilogue]

Jyrvess weaved her way through the new Mandalorian enclave. It had not been long established and much to her surprise Mandalore had allowed her a tiny space of her own. She still wasn't sure if it had been out of some grudging respect for her, or if he wished to remind them that the former Librarian was still not quite one of them. Not that she minded either way, though Jyrvess had found a surprising amount of friendship among the gruff warriors...most still tended to treat her as either their pet outsider or a walking database...there were times the woman needed to be alone.

Pausing at her door she stopped to admire her handiwork, the room was little bigger then a supply closet but she had managed to cram all her stuff in the tiny space. It was, Jyrvess felt, a model of space management. Everything was in it's place with the most used easiest to get too. Granted she had only a square roughly her size to actually stand in and the sleeping space was a small rectangle with just enough space to get in and out of. She stepped in, leaving her door open...not that it would mattered if one of the Mandalorians had needed her something.

Her eyes paused to look at the framed image of father, it used to bring her nothing but shame and guilt. But now it was a comfort, a hope for the future, and a goal to be achieved. "Hey Dad, looks like we settled into the new home."

Silent as the wind, a Mandalorian in a black armor with deep red tint leaned up against the doorway. Watching her for a moment, as was his custom. A whisper on the wind. Kagr, if she remembered his name from all that time ago. From her time with the Mandalorian's she'd come to know his habits being mysterious among even them. How he came and went without so much as a word, or even the sound of a door closing.

Still, when he was there, he seemed a friendly sort. As she would have witnessed at the party back on Kamda after the fighting.

"I didn't see you there Mr Kagr," A smile touched her lips, "Of course I rarely do when you don't want to be seen." Jyrvess turned to address him properly, "Jate vaar'tur," The language was still largely foreign to her, but she had been practicing. The lack of fluency was obvious as she had spoken slowly and sounding out the syllables. "Is there something I can help you with?"

"Su cuy'gar, Areutii, tion'ad hukaat'kama?" he teased in his way, giving a far more developed response than he believed her ready for. "Good morning, outsider," he repeated in basic.

"Mand'alor is coming, he will be checking on your progress. I just wanted to know first. How have you settled in?"

[Jyrvess Ertil]

She gestured to her small space, "Well enough, a little cramped maybe. But no more then everyone else." Jyrvess smiled, "I assume you mean among the people though...well it really feels like it depends on the individual, though I think none of them have quite accepted me like Raven and Frost. Well and Bura Fett in her....unique way."

"But no one I think feels me a burden, even if I am still not much a physical fighter. A few have even come to me for advise on more technical matters."

"Bura," he chuckled, "a freer spirit than most. I am not surprised she has been counted by you as one who accepts you. Rules matter little to her, tradition.. like all of us here, she cares for a lot. Luckily for you, Brains, tradition dictates that any may become Mando'ade so long as they commit to the Way we all follow. Choose to join the family and challenge themselves."

"You could find a place here.." he said, looking at her, thinking.. "but you don't want you. You are not Mando'ade, nor will you be," he said, his tone hard to grasp. "I do not mean this in a negative way," he confirmed."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"I do not take it as such," Jyrvess shook her head, "I have made it little secret that my ultimate desire is the end of the Empire and the return of something more like the Republic."

She leans against the door frame, "But I have been tempted. Most of the galaxy only now your people as the great conquerors and terrifying warriors of legend." Her tone becomes more playful temporarily, "I mean....you are that..." Then she shifts back, more serious, "But your bond, like a large family. Your close brothers and sisters in clan and your cousins in your fellow clans. There is a real sense of belonging."

"Each warrior is their own, independent and strong," he says. Putting his hands to the bottom of his helmet. "It is what makes such a strong family. We each can take care of our own, but together.. we stand stronger than any other. That is something that few other organizations have been able to match," he said. Undoing some of the clasps.

"Some of us have fled other lives here, some of us have lived this forever, I'm more of the former.. but less running away from something and more running toward," he said, pulling off his helmet he revealed his deep blue skin, black hair, and full-red eyes. No pupil made their appearance look piercing, like he could see right through her. His appearance made him seem cold, and yet..

"I left the ascendancy to come here. Find my own way. Whichever battle you claim, you can do it among the Mando'ade. Answer when Mand'alor calls but otherwise take the teaching, the training, and become strong in your own right to do what you need to do. Mand'alor has never stopped me from my own crusade, he won't stop you from yours," he said, replacing his helmet with one last smile.

"Before you ask," he said, a chuckle, "I only showed you who I am cause no one will believe you if you tell them," he chuckled and then walked off.

As if he knew he was coming, Mandalore could be seen coming from down the hall.

Jyrvess frowned in thought, "Find your own way...." Her eyes drifted back to her father's picture. He had died for the Republic or at least its ideals. Ideals she in hindsight had thought worth aspiring to. But her own life had left her with precious few connections and many had been made all to recently. She barely even had anything that connected her to Corellia or Courscant. The Mandalorians seemed to offer a new family to replace the one she had lost.

It was in this state of contemplation Mandalore would find the librarian.

[Mandalore]

"Will it suffice?" Mandalore asked, he was ever an enigma. Few of words until it came time to deliver another speech, which he did regularly. Long sermons about this or that. Reinforcing his views.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"It will suffice Mand'alor," She answered, "Thank you." Jyrvess studied the armored figure for a moment. She had grown used to a lot of his idiosyncrasies over her time among the Enclave. "Everyone else seems have settled in as well, or at least from what I have seen."

She shifts a little in the door, allowing the Mandalorian to see inside if he wished.

[Mandalore]

"Mando'ade are independent, each of us a warrior in our right. Changing home.. it is a simple task, one that any should have the will to overcome. One that is necessary, given the predilection of our kin yet on our home-world," he did peer inside, checking on how she had organized the space, barely from his eye.

"All present here hold their own. Have you thought Jyrvess, how you might do the same? Many hunts, others scout, and even more bring in recruits. Though you are not Mando'ade I expect you understand that by sharing our roof you share our responsibilities."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"My skills lie largely in planning, advising, and intelligence..." She considered her answer, "But I have been using my time with your people to broaden my understanding of others. I could assist in dealing with other outsiders, a less intimidating face. And if it were necessary...covering who I was ultimately acting on behalf of. I know the Enclave is largely self-sufficient but there are still supplies which could be purchased or allies courted. Perhaps even help find those your recruiters would be interested in."

"But I am ready to help out however I may. I have told you what I feel best suited for but if that is not needed I can find another niche to fill for the Enclave."

[Mandalore]

"What you misunderstand, Jyrvess, is that I was asking you to offer your skills. What I intended was for you to decide which of your own you might benefit us with and supply it yourself, unbidden by my request," he corrected. "All else was a mere understanding of how each contribute's in their part. You may decide how you might do the same."

"I am a leader, not a father, to those who are here. We are all the Mando'ade," he finished. "For now.. how we operate extends to you. Choose your path, walk it, and be certain that your steps are unwasted."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Ahh...well in that case," She glances at her father's picture, "I have provided those who needed information. About the Empire, about the Outer Rim, and strangely even the odd tale and story. The Mando'ade hunt a great many odd thing."

Jyrvess allows herself a sly smile, "I have also been collecting rumors and information from the returning warriors...trying to see if I can piece anything useful from it. I...have been working on information on anti-Imperial cells." She pauses, "And if I can discover anything on the Saxon and Imperial presence on the Mando'ade's traditional holdings. To see if any clans might chaff enough under Saxon rule to be open to alternatives. It is just a beginning so I'm afraid there is precious little to tell yet."

"I have been wanting to reach out to some of the anti-Imperial cells and maybe some sympathetic underworlders. To see if they could supply the Enclave with materials. In such a way as not to reveal it's location."

[Mandalore]

Though the T-shaped visor revealed nothing, his very-slightly-lighter tone conveyed his mirth. "Excellent. If you might derive something from learning of our people on the homeworld that you might even learn how to sway a whole Clan to our way, our cause, I would be mirthful upon hearing it. Glad still, if it is only some handful of warriors who would join our cause. If you are in need of assistance on expediting this matter you will have my support and with it the support of the Madno'ade."

"As for these outsiders you wish to contact... let us speak in more detail," Mandalore said as they would surely get down to the nitty gritty details of how they might accomplish these goals.
